Giorgio  DUBOIN

Nato a Genova il 30 settembre 1959, Giorgio Duboin vive a Torino.

 Giorgio, che ha iniziato a giocare a soli 13 anni, è uno dei migliori giocatori italiani in attività.

 Sposato da quasi 40 anni con Eleonora Marzulli (7 agosto 1953), hanno avuto un figlio. Anche lei ottima bridgista e campionessa italiana a squadre nel 2022 e nel 2023 .

 Giorgino è un World Grand Master ed un European Grand Master,  ed è stato una delle colonne portanti del nuovo Blue Team, forse la squadra più forte che si sia mai vista in Italia.

 Messosi in luce come uno tra i  migliori juniores del mondo, ha conquistato in questa categoria il titolo Europeo a Coppie del 1980, il primo posto nel MEC a squadre del 1979, un argento nell'Europeo nel 1984 e due Campionati italiani a Squadre (1978, 1984).

 Sul piano nazionale ha conquistato 15 titoli nazionali a Squadre (1982, 1987, 1991, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023, 8 Coppe Italia (1983, 1990, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2023)

 Passato tra gli open, ha conquistato tre primi posti nel MEC a coppie (1985, 1987, 1996), uno in quello a squadre (1983), è stato anche 7 volte Campione d'Europa  a Squadre (1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008), una volta Campione d'Europa a Squadre Miste (2002), tre volte consecutive Campione Olimpico a Maastricht nel 2000, ad Istanbul nel 2004 e a Pechino nel 2008, ed infine,  Campione del Mondo a Squadre nel 2005 e nel 2013 (anche se non ha ricevuto il titolo per non aver partecipato alla finale), Vice Campione del Mondo nel 2003 e nel 2009 e terzo nel 2011. 

 Tra gli altri successi internazionali si è imposto nella Spingold (2001 e 2002), nel Forbo Teams dove, dopo un paio di piazzamenti, ha centrato la prestigiosa accoppiata sia nel 2001 che nel 2002, poi, il White House del 2002 e del 2006, l'Australian Summer National (2001), la Reisinger (2000, 2010, 2011 e 2019), la Vanderbilt (2004, 2015 e 2016), il Politiken World Pairs (2000), la Rosenblum Cup (2002), la Champion Cup (2002, 2003, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 e 2015), il Mitchell 2002 e 2011, il Patton Scratch di Biarritz (1996, 2003, 2009, 2011 e 2013), il Coppie Open di Biarritz (1995, 2003, 2008, 2013), il Silodor di St. Louis (2007), la NEC Cup del 2010, il Trofeo FMB del 2018.

 Nel 2008 è stato il primo non americano a ricevere il Sidney H. Lazard Jr. Sportsmanship Award, un ambito riconoscimento che premia un giocatore per la sua correttezza. Fa parte della High Level Player Commission della WBF.

Born in Genoa in 1959 and began playing at age 13 and is one of the best Italian players in activity.

Married to Eleanor Marzulli (1953, August 7), who is also very good bridge player with several national titles and winner of 2022 and 2023 Italian Ladies Teams. They had a son.

Little George is a World Grand Master, a European Grand Master and one of the cornerstones of the new Blue Team, perhaps the strongest team of every time.

One of the best juniors of every time, in this category he won the European Pairs in 1980, the MEC Open Teams in 1979, a silver in the European Team Championships in 1984 and two Italian Team Championships (1978, 1984).

At the national level has won among other: 14 National Teams (1982, 1987, 1991, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2015, 2018, 2019) and 8 Italy Cup (1983, 1990, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023).

Passed between the Open, he earned three gold medal in the MEC Pairs Championships (1985, 1987, 1996), one in the MEC Teams Championships (1983), was also 7 times European Champion Team (1997, 1999, 2001, 2002 , 2004, 2006, 2008), once a European Champion Mixed Team (2002), three times Olympic Champion in Maastricht in 2000, in Istanbul in 2004 and Beijing in 2008, and finally, World Team Champion in 2005 and 2013 (even if it has not received the title for not having participated in the final), Vice World Champion in 2003 and 2009, finally, third in 2011.

In the international circuit he has won the Spingold (2001 and 2002), in the Forbo Teams where, after a couple of placings, has centered the prestigious coupled both in 2001 and in 2002, then, the White House in 2002 and 2006, the Australian National Summer (2001), the Reisinger (2000, 2010, 2011 and 2019), Vanderbilt (2004, 2015 e 2016), the Politiken World Pairs (2000), the Rosenblum Cup (2002), the Champion Cup (2002, 2003, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015), Mitchell 2002 e 2011, the Scratch of Biarritz Patton (1996, 2003, 2009, 2011and 2013), the Open Pairs in Biarritz (1995, 2003, 2008 and 2011), Silodor of St. Louis (2007), the NEC Cup in 2010 and in 2018 he won the FMB Trophy at second European Winter Games.

He is one of the first in the world ranking published by the WBF and in 2008 was the first non-American to receive the Sidney H. Lazard Jr. Sportsmanship Award a coveted award that rewards a player for his correctness. He is part of WBF High Level Player Commission.
