Champion's Cup

 

Nel 1980 sponsorizzata dalla Justerini & Brooks nasce una competizione biennale che, parafrasando il calcio, assegna la Coppa Europa, dopo un serrato confronto tra le Teams vincitrici dei rispettivi Campioni Nazionali.

 La competizione veniva disputata negli anni pari.

 Nel 1988 la manifestazione si interrompe per la difficoltà di trovare un numero interessante di Squadre partecipanti a causa del fatto che in molte Nazioni affiliate alla EBL non vengono disputati Campionati di Club.

 Il 25 ottobre del 2002 per iniziativa della EBL, con il supporto della Federazione Polacca ed  il sostegno della CA-IB Bank, nasce la Champion's Cup riservata alle Squadre vincitrici dei Campionati Nazionali di club delle 8 Nazioni che si sono classificate ai primi otto posti dei Campionati Europei a Squadre.

 Alla prima edizione la squadra di Israele, nona classificata agli Europei di Salsomaggiore, sostituisce la Squadra Spagnola che non avendo disputato Campionati Nazionali di Club non ha una Squadra da iscrivere.

 Dal 2004 i Campioni in carica partecipano di diritto mettendo in palio il loro titolo ogni anno e vengono sfidati dalle Squadre Campioni Nazionali di Club dei primi 10 Paesi classificati agli ultimi Campionati Europei a Squadre e da una formazione che rappresenta di diritto il Paese ospitante.

   In 1980, sponsored by Justerini & Brooks comes a biennial competition, paraphrasing football, gives the European Cup, after a heated debate among the winners of their national champions.

The competition was held in even years.

In 1988, the event is stopped because of the difficulty of finding a number of interesting teams because of the fact that in many nations affiliated to the EBL are not played for Club Championships.

25 October 2002 on the initiative of EBL, with support from the Polish Federation and the support of CA-IB Bank, founded the Champion's Cup, given to winners of national championships of the eight nations that have been classified in the first eight places European Championships Team.

Salsomaggiore, has replaced the Spanish side, not having played National Championships has not acquired the right to participate.

Since 2004, the champions of law involved in putting their titles up for grabs each year and teams are challenged by the National Champions of the 10 countries classified in the last European Championship Team and a training representing the host country.
