 Norberto  BOCCHI

Nato il 29 settembre del 1961, fin dalla giovane età di 17 anni, la vita del parmense Norberto Bocchi è quasi interamente dedicata al bridge che, tra gli impegni delle squadre degli sponsor  e quelli  della nazionale azzurra, non gli lascia molto tempo per coltivare altre passioni. Nonostante ciò, in gioventù ha praticato a discreti livelli anche l'altro sport di famiglia: la pallacanestro.

 Il papà Aldo è stato una figura di riferimento prima del bridge parmense e poi, fino al momento della sua scomparsa avvenuta nel 1998, di quello milanese. La madre argentina ha fatto si che Norberto abbia il doppio passaporto.

 Sposato con Sigrid Castellsanguè Florentì (nella foto), ha due figli e da qualche tempo si è trasferito in Spagna e vive a Barcellona dove ha cominciato a giocare molto anche a golf.

 In compenso Sigrid ha cominciato a giocare e vincere a Bridge visto che assieme al marito a vinto il misto di Juan les Pins nel 2011.

 Sul piano nazionale Norberto ha vinto tra l’altro: 4 titoli nel Misto a Squadre (1985, 1988, 1991, 2014) 11 Coppe Italia (1984, 1986, 1990, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019), 12 titoli a Squadre Open (1986, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2015, 2018, 2019) e il Campionato a Coppie Open del 1987.

 Sul piano internazionale Norberto ha cominciato vincendo l'argento egli Europei Juniores del 1984 in Belgio, poi, è stato 7 volte Campione Europeo (1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008) e due volte Campione Olimpico (nel 2000 e nel 2004).

 Nel 2003 ha conquistato l'argento nella Bermuda Bowl che ha poi vinto nel 2005 e nel 2013, arrivando terzo nel 2011, mentre, nel 2004 a Verona ha vinto il Campionato Mondiale Individuale.

 Tra le sue altre prestigiose vittorie internazionali ricordiamo: 2 primi posti nel MEC a coppie (1989, 1996), 2 Spingold (2001 e 2002), il Forbo Nation Cup nel 1997 e nel 2002, il Forbo International Teams nel 1997, 2001 e 2002, l'Australian Summer National (2001), le Reisinger (2000, 2019 e 2023), il Jacoby del 2001, la Vanderbilt (2004, 2015 e 2016), il Politiken World Pairs (2000), la Rosenblum Cup nel 2002, la Champion Cup nel 2002, 2003, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 e 2015, il Mitchell nel 2002, 4 volte a Biarritz il Coppie Open (1989, 1990, 1995, 2003) e due volte il Patton Scratch (1996 e 2010), il White House del 2006 e del 2008, la NEC Cup del 2010 ed il World Open Master Individual del 2004.

Ha guadagnato il titolo di World Grand Master dalla WBF e di quello di European Grand Master dalla EBL ed occupa stabilmente una delle prime posizioni nella Classifica mondiale edita della WBF.

Ultime vittorie il Campionato Catalano a Squadre nel 2015, il Trofeo FMB e la medaglia d'argento nella Rosenblum nel 2018.

La sorella Mabel, oggi apprezzata giornalista sportiva, è stata una nazionale della squadra di basket italiana.

Born in Parma in 1961, since the young age of 17 years, the life of Norberto Bocchi is almost entirely dedicated to that bridge, between the commitments of the sponsored teams and the national team, do not leave him much time to cultivate other passions. Nevertheless, in his youth he practiced at discrete levels the other family sport: basketball.

The father Aldo was a key figure of the bridge of Parma and later, until his death in 1998, of Milan. Argentina's mother has made that Norberto has dual passports.

Married to Sigrid Castellsanguè Florentì (pictured) has two children and recently moved to Spain, lives in Barcelona with his family where he began playing golf very well.

On the other hand Sigrid began to play and win at the Bridge. Together as husband won the mixture of Juan les Pins in 2011.

Domestically Norberto has won among the other titles: 4 titles in the Mixed Teams (1985, 1988, 1991, 2014), 11 Italy Cup (1984, 1986, 1990, 1991, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019), 12 Open Teams (1986, 1991 , 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2015, 2018, 2019) and the Open Pairs Championships in 1987.

On the international Norberto he began by winning the European Junior silver in 1984 in Belgium, then, he was 7 times European Champion (1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008) and two times Olympic Champion (2000 and 2004).

In the Bermuda Bowl  he won the silver medal in 2003, the gold medal in 2005 and 2013, and the bronze medal in 2011. In addition he won in Verona in 2004 the World Individual Championships.

Among his other prestigious international titles he earned: 2 first places in the MEC-pair (1989, 1996), 2 Spingold (2001 and 2002), the Forbo Nation Cup in 1997 and 2002, the Forbo International Teams in 1997, 2001 and 2002, the Australian National Summer (2001), the Reisinger (2000, 2019 and 2023), the Jacoby (2001), the Vanderbilt (2004, 2015 and 2016), the World Politikien Pair (2000), the Rosenblum Cup (2002), the Champion Cup in 2002, 2003, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, the Mitchell in 2002, 4 times Open Pairs in Biarritz (1989, 1990, 1995, 2003) and 2 times the  Patton Scratch (1996 and 2010), the White House in 2006 and 2008, the NEC and the Cup in 2010.

He earned the title of World Grand Master WBF and that of the European Grand Master by the EBL and permanently occupies a premier position in world ranking published the WBF.

Last victories the Catalan Teams Championships of 2015 and in 2018 the FMB andTrophy at second European Winter Games and the silver medal in Rosenblum.

His sister Mabel, now valued sports journalist, was a national basketball Italian.
