Thomas Bessis è nato a Parigi nel 1984 da una famiglia di grandi bridgisti (Michel e Veronique), studia matematica e chimica e, assieme al fratello Olivier di due anni più grande, è uno dei più promettenti giocatori francesi della nuova era.
Si è diplomato nel 2002 e dopo aver frequentato per 18 mesi la facoltà di ingegneria alla Grenoble University è tornato a Parigi e si è laureato in matematica.
Thomas, che ha iniziato a giocare a bridge assieme al fratello quando aveva solo 11 anni, in coppia con suo fratello, ha conquistato il bronzo agli Europei Under 20 del 2000 ad Antalya e a quelli Under 25 del 2006 a Riccione, per poi salire sul gradino principale agli Europei Universitari del 2007 a Bruges (competizione della quale aveva già vinto l'edizione precedente di Rotterdam), agli Europei Juniores a Coppie di Breslavia nel 2008 e a quelli a Squadre Under 26 di Brasov nel 2009.
In coppia con il padre Michel e con due israeliani ha vinto il suo primo titolo Open a Squadre ai Transnazionali Europei di Antalya del 2007, la Vanderbilt ed il John Roberts Teams del 2010.
Thomas, che ai suoi esordi ha giocato per 8 anni in coppia con Julien Gaviard, un'altro figlio d'arte e grande promessa francese, oggi è un World Life Master che, nel 2008 ha contribuito a riportare la Warren Buffet Cup al di qua dell'Oceano.
Nel 2010 ha fatto da coach nella formidabile Squadra francese femminile che con la madre in campo ha vinto per l'ennesima volta il Campionato Europeo a Squadre e poi nel 2011 la Venice Cup con Thomas promosso apitano.
Thomas Bessis was born in Paris in 1984 by a family of great bridge players
(Michel and Veronique), studied mathematics and chemistry and, with his brother

new era.
He graduated in 2002 and after attending for 18 months, the faculty of engineering at Grenoble University, he returned to Paris and graduated in mathematics.
Thomas, who began playing bridge with his brother when he was only 11 years, teamed with him won the bronze medal at the European Championships Under-20 in 2000 to Antalya and the European Championships Under 25 (2006) in Riccione, to go up on the step higher at Euro 2007 in Bruges (competition which had already won in the previous edition of Rotterdam), the European Junior Pairs Championships of Wroclaw (2008) and the European Team Championships Under 26 in Brasov (2009).
Paired with his father Michel and two Israelis won his first major title at the European Transnational Teams Championships in Antalya (2007), the Vanderbilt and the John Roberts Teams (both in 2010)
Thomas, who he played for eight years in tandem with Julien Gaviard, another son of French art and great promise, today is a World Life Master that in 2008 helped to bring the Warren Buffet Cup on this side of Ocean.
In 2010 he has been coach in the French female team that with his mother in the field, once again won the European Championship Team and in 2011 he has been passed captain of the same formidable team that has won the Venice Cup.
