Bresciano, nato il 14 marzo del 1943, Franco Baroni è un Italian Life Master e un World Master che con la nazionale seniores ha vinto una medaglia d'oro ai Campionati a Coppie del MEC del 1998 ed un'altra agli Europei Open di Tenerife nel 2005 a seguire l'argento di Mentone 2003.
Sempre a Tenerife nel 2005 ha anche vinto l'argento ai Seniores a Coppie in tandem con Marco Ricciarelli.

Sul piano nazionale ha vinto diversi titoli sia nella Categoria Seniores che in quella Open, tra essi ricordiamo: l'oro nel Campionato a Squadre Miste del 2005 e la Coppa Italia del 1981.
É uno dei pochi insegnanti italiani ad aver ottenuto il titolo di professore ed oggi vive a Moniga del Garda dove si diletta non poco anche con il golf.
Sua figlia Irene Baroni è nata a Desenzano del Garda il 7 maggio del 1983, ha studiato psicologia all'Università di Firenze ed oggi vive a Parigi sposata con il campione francese Thomas Bessis.
I suoi successi bridgistici iniziano a livello giovanile con la vittoria del Campionato Italiano Under 25 nel 2002, vittoria ripetuta nel 2005, 2006, 2007. Nel 2005 arriva pure la prima vittoria tra i grandi, il Campionato Italiano a Squadre Miste nella stesso team in cui giocava il papà, seguita dalla Coppa Italia Mista del 2006. Nel 2007 vince una messe di titoli e si ripete nel Campionati a Squadre Miste aggiungendo anche il titolo di Coppa Italia Women che poi bissa nel 2008 come pure quello della Coppa Italia Mista nel 2009.

Vince anche il Transazionale Mondiale Juniores del 2006 e un argento ai Campionati Europei Juniores a Squadre del 2007, unica femmina presente in squadra.
Poi si dedica per un periodo di 6 anni al poker sportivo con discreti successi prima di rientrare nel circuito del bridge vincendo ancora la Coppa Italia Women nel 2015, nel 2016 e nel 2018.
Nel 2018 vince il Campionato Italiano a Squadre Femminili e ancora una volta la Coppa Italia Mista, nonché, un bronzo nella prestigiosa Mc Connell Cup ed un altro nella Wuhan Cup del 2022.
Tanto per mantenersi in esercizio nel 2022 vince i Campionati Italiani a Squadre Miste e quelli Europei a Coppie Femminili, guadagnando il bronzo in quelli Misti.
Oggi è una World Open Master ed una World Women Master che ha colto come ultimo successo l'oro ai Campionati Europei Transnazionali Femminili.
La mamma Angiolisa Frati (25 aprile 1949) lavora nel settore degli strumenti medicali ed è arbitro nazionale.

Also in Tenerife in 2005 he also won silver at the Senior in Pairs in tandem with Marco Ricciarelli.

He is one of the few Italian teachers to have obtained the title of professor and today he lives in Moniga del Garda where he also enjoys golf.
His daughter Irene Baroni was born in Desenzano del Garda on May 7, 1983, studied psychology at the University of Florence and now lives in Paris married with the French champion Thomas Bessis.
Her bridge successes began at a youth level with the victory of the Italian Under 25 Championship in 2002, a repeated victory in 2005, 2006, 2007.
In 2005 the first victory among the adults also arrived, the Italian Mixed Team Championship in the same team in which his father played, followed by the 2006 Mixed Italy Cup.
In 2007 she won a series of titles and repeats herself in the Mixed Team Championships also adding the title of the Italian Women's Cup which she then repeats in 2008 as well as that of the Mixed Italy Cup in 2009.
In this period she also won the 2006 World Junior Transaction Championship and a silver medal at the 2007 European Junior Team Championships, the only female on the team.
Then she devoted herself for a period of 6 years to sportive poker with moderate success before returning to the bridge circuit, winning the Italian Women Cup again in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
In 2018 she won the Italian Women's Team Championship and once again the Mixed Italy Cup, as well as a bronze in the prestigious Mc Connell Cup and an other in 2022 Wuhan Cup.
After in 2022 won the Mixed Italian Championships and the European Women pairs and earned a bronze medal in the European Mixed Teams.
Today she is a World Open Master and a World Women Master that taked last success in the European Transnational Women Teams.
The mother Angiolisa Frati (25 April 1949) works in the medical instruments sector and is a national referee.
