Michel  BESSIS

Michel Bessis è nato a Tunisi il 30 settembre del 1952 ed è il capofamiglia di una formidabile squadra di bridge! Véronique sua moglie è una delle più forti giocatrici in attività ed i suoi due figli, Thomas ed Olivier ricalcano le orme dei genitori.

 Michel , ha iniziato il liceo a Tunisi e, nonostante che i suoi familiari giocassero a bridge, in quel tempo si dilettava più che altro con il poker.

 Trasferitosi al liceo Saint Louis di Parigi, dove ha preso un diploma in ingegneria statistica, ha iniziato a giocare a bridge intensamente e ha deciso di dedicarsi interamente al gioco.

 Sposatosi con Véronique il bridge, oltre a giocarlo, ha cominciato a scriverlo e, soprattutto, ad insegnarlo al Bridge Club Saint Honoré di Parigi in collaborazione con la moglie.

 Con la moglie ha vinto due Campionati Europei a Squadre consecutivi nel Misto (1996 e 1998) ed ha conquistato il bronzo in quelli a Coppie del 1992. Tra i numerosi titoli internazionali conquistati  ricordiamo per tre volte l'oro nel Torneo Misto a Biarritz.

Come capitano non giocatore ha guidato la Nazionale Femminile del suo Paese alla conquista dell'Europeo del 1983 e quella seniores all'oro nel 2018.

Come giocatore Michel è un World Life Master ed un Senior Life Master che, tanto per non perdere il vizio di famiglia, ha vinto i Campionati Europei a Squadre di Antalya nel 2007 giocando in squadra con due israeliani e in coppia con il figlio Thomas! e si è ripetuto a Louisville conquistando per l'Europa la 2ª Buffett Cup e vincendo la Vanderbilt ed il John Roberts Teams del 2010.

Ha anche vinto il Campionato Italiano a Squadre nel 2012, 2013, 2017 e nel 2014 il Cavendish Team, i World Bridge Series Senior Teams e la Coppa Italia.

Michel Bessis was born in Tunis September 30, 1952 and is the head of the family of a formidable team of Bridge! His wife Veronique is one of the strongest global players among those in activity, and his two sons Thomas and Olivier are following in the footsteps of their parents.

Michel, has started high school in Tunis and, although his parents were bridge players, at that time he loved play to poker.

He moved to the Lyceum Saint Louis in Paris, where he took a degree in engineering statistics, he began playing bridge intensely and decided to devote himself entirely to the game.

After married Bénédicte Cronier, he started play, write and, above all, to teach at the Bridge Club Saint Honoré in Paris in collaboration with his wife.

With Bénédicte are won two consecutive European  Mixed Teams (1996 and 1998) and  the bronze medal in the European Mixed Pairs (1992). Among the many international titles captured there are three gold medal in the Mixed Tournament of Biarritz.

As non-playing captain led the Ladies Team of his country to win the European Championship in 1983 and the European Senior Teams Championships in 2018.

As a player, Michel is a World Life Master, that so as not to lose the habit of family, won the European Team Championships in Antalya in 2007 playing with his son Thomas and two Israelis player! and he repeated the enterprise in Louisville winning the 2nd Buffett Cup and the Vanderbilt Cup and the John Roberts contest of 2010.

He ha also won three times the Italian Teams Championships in 2012, 2013, 2017 and  in 2014 the Cavendish Monaco Teams, the World Bridge Series Senior Teams and the Italy Cup.
