Nato a Torino nel 1959 è stato uno dei migliori juniores d'Europa mettendosi in mostra con un titolo Europeo a Coppie Juniores nel 1980, il secondo posto conquistato agli Europei Juniores di Hasselt nel 1984 e quello nel MEC a Squadre Juniores del 1983.
Ha iniziato a giocare a Bridge a 12 anni assistendo per caso ad una lezione di un corso al quale partecipava il suo papà che è anche stato il suo primo partner. Da ragazzo praticava anche il tennis, ma ben presto il Bridge prese il sopravvento su tutto.
Nel 1980 è entrato a far parte del circuito sponsorizzato dalla Lavazza con la quale ha anche giocato più volte in coppia ed oggi è un World Life Master ed un Italian Gran Master che sul piano nazionale ha vinto tra l'altro: 8 Campionati italiani (1983, 1984, 1987, 1991, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2010), una Coppia Italia (1985) e due titoli nazionali a Coppie (1994 e 2010).
Sul piano internazionale nel 1992 ha vinto il Patton di Biarritz ed ha poi iniziato a giocare ad alto livello facendo coppia con Dano De Falco con il quale ha vinto un'Olimpiade nel 2000, due Campionati Europei nel 1999 e nel 2001 ed un bronzo a coppie negli europei del 2001.
Ha anche vinto gli Australian Summer National (2001), il White House del 2002 e del 2006 ed il Forbo International Teams (2001).
Il 2002 è stato l'anno della sua consacrazione con una serie prestigiosa di successi, oltre al già citato White House, ha vinto entrambi i Tornei Forbo, la Rosenblum Cup, la Champions Cup ed il Campionato Europeo a Squadre Miste, l'unico trofeo che ancora mancava nella formidabile bacheca degli atleti azzurri.
Nel suo palmares trovano posto un argento (2000) ed un bronzo (2002) nello IOC Grand Prix, e due altre vittorie nel Transnational Swiss Teams del 2003 e nella NEC Cup nel 2010.
Nel 2011 colleziona altri due prestigiosi trofei il secondo Patton Scratch di Biarritz e la Champion Cup, successo ripetuto nel 2013.
Nel 2013 replica il Patton Scratch e l'Open Pairs di Biarritz.
Sposato da 25 anni con Cinzia, Consigliere della FIGB, è anche stato un appassionato di storia della chiesa con particolare riferimento al periodo del Medio Evo.
É scomparso prematuramente il 14 febbraio del 2014 dopo un breve ricovero.

2002 was the year of his consecration with a prestigious series of successes, in addition to the aforementioned White House, has won both Forbo tournaments, the Rosenblum Cup, the Champions Cup and the European Mixed Teals Championships, the only trophy that was missing in his formidable dashboard.
In his list are placed a silver (2000) and bronze (2002) in the IOC Grand Prix, and two other victories in the 2003 Transnational Team and in NEC Cup in 2010.
In 2011 are for the second time the Patton Scratch of Biarritz and for the first time the Champion Cup, victory repeated in 2013.
In 2013 are for the third time the Patton Scratch of Biarritz and for the first Open Pairs.
Married for 25 years is a fan of church history, with particular reference to the period of the Middle Ages.
He is disappeared prematurely after a brief illness on 2014, 14 February.
