Bjorn & Kathy FALLENIUS

 Nato nel 1958 a Malmoe, Bjorn è uno dei più forti giocatori svedesi,  professionista del bridge, vive a New York, fino a non molto tempo fa, assieme alla moglie Kathy Anday con la quale amava giocare spesso a bridge  visto che anche lei era un'ottima bridgista.

 Kathy  era una newyorkese doc che assieme al marito gestiva il Cavendish, un famoso Bridge Club che si trova nelle vicinanze di Central Park. Vice Presidente della Lehman Brother's, Andy parlava sette lingue ed in precedenza aveva lavorato per Merrill Lynch's a Parigi e Bruxelles e per Peat Marwick a New York. Donna di grande talento, Kathy che era nata il 21 luglio del 1947 ed è venuta a mancare il 9 novembre del 2014, al suo primo NABC (Toronto 1992) arrivò seconda!

  Sul piano internazionale Bjorn fa parte da decenni della sua nazionale ed ha conquistato: due volte il bronzo nella Bermuda Bowl (1987, 1991), un bronzo Olimpico (1988), due bronzi nella Rosenblum (1986 e 1998), un argento nel Transnazionale Mondiale (2005), un oro (1987), due argenti (1991 e 1999) e un bronzo (1989) nell'Europeo a Squadre, l'oro nell'Europeo a Coppie del 2009, due Cavendish Teams (2001, 2005) ed un Cavendish Pairs (1998), l'argento nel Mondiale a Coppie del 2010.

 Dopo il suo trasferimento negli Stati Uniti ha conquistato nel circuito dei NABC americani: un Mitchell (2005), uno Jacoby (1996), due Reisenger (1991, 2001), una Spingold (2003), una Vanderbilt (2007) e un Wernher (1998). 

 World Life Master, Bjorn è scomparso nel novembre del 2023.

Born in 1958 in Malmoe, Bjorn is one of the strongest  bridge players in Sweden. He lives in New York, until not long ago, with his wife Kathy Anday with which he loved to play bridge often since she was a 'excellent bridge player.

Kathy was a New Yorker who with her husband ran the Cavendish, a famous Bridge Club which is located near Central Park. Vice President of Lehman Brother's, Andy spoke seven languages and had previously worked for Merrill Lynch's in Paris and Brussels and for Peat Marwick in New York. Woman of great talent, Kathy (born July 21, 1947) who left us November 9, 2014, at her first NABC (Toronto 1992) came second!

On the international Bjorn part by decades of his National and won two times bronze in the Bermuda Bowl (1987, 1991), an Olympic bronze (1988), two bronzes in Rosenblum (1986 and 1998), a silver in the Transnational World (2005), a gold (1987), two silver medals (1991 and 1999) and one bronze (1989) in the European Team, the gold in the European Pairs of 2009, two Cavendish Teams (2001, 2005) and a Cavendish Pairs (1998), a silver in the World Pairs of 2010.

After his move to the United States has won the circuit of NABC Americans: a Mitchell (2005), one Jacoby (1996), two Reisenger (1991, 2001), a Spingold (2003), a Vanderbilt (2007) and a Wernher (1998).
