 David BERKOWITZ

David Berkowitz nato il 23 novembre del 1949 a Old Tappan nel New Jersey, si laureato alla Long Island University e, dopo essere stato un ragioniere statale, stato anche un option trader.

 Oggi pensionato e vive a Boca Raton in Florida dedicando tutto il tempo che il bridge gli lascia libero, al golf.

 Sposato con la campionessa Lisa, ha avuto due figli Dana e Michael che il capo dei direttori dell'Aces Bridge Club di New York.

 Gi presidente della Greater New York Bridge Association e per lungo tempo membro del suo Consiglio di Amministrazione, fa parte dello staff redazionale della prestigiosa The Bridge World.

 Ha imparato il bridge a 18 anni osservando il fratello maggiore ed ha conquistato il suo primo titolo nazionale 10 anni pi tardi per poi divenire World Grand Master della WBF oltre che Grand Life Master dell'ACBL.

 David ha vinto molti titoli nazionali e tra questi spicca la Vanderbilt's del 2005, 3 Mitchell (1982, 91, 2007), 2 Wernher (1982 e 1996), 3 Silodor (2004, 2006 e 2009), la Reisinger del 1991 e 9 Grand National Teams (1994, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2023). Ha anche partecipato a molte competizione internazionali conquistando diversi piazzamenti prestigiosi e la vittoria nel Cap Gemini del 1999 e le Warren Buffet Cup del 2006 e del 2010.

 Rimasto un po' in ombra negli anni '90, ha ripreso smalto giocando con Larry Cohen ed ha anche vinto diversi titoli nazionali giocando in coppia con la moglie Lisa di tre anni pi giovane e a sua volta rinomata campionessa di bridge.

Nel 2010 ha ricevuto il grande onore di essere letto nella Hall of Fame del bridge americano.

Nel 2012 ha fatto parte della squadra USA che ha vinto la  Buffett Cup, nel 2013 ha vinto il Transnational Open Teams di Bali, nel 2015 il BAM Mixed Teams agli Europei in coppia con la moglie, nel 2017 la Coppa D'Orsi e nei World Bridge Series del 2022 ha guadagnato l'argento nella Rand Cup ed il bronzo nel Senior Pairs.

Today he is retired and lives in Boca Raton, Florida, dedicating all the time that the bridge leaves him free to golf.

Married to the bridge champion Lisa, she has two sons, Dana and Michael, who is the head of the directors of the Aces Bridge Club in New York.

Former president of the Greater New York Bridge Association and for a long time a member of its Board of Directors, he is part of the editorial staff of the prestigious The Bridge World.

He learned Bridge at age 18 by observing his elder brother and won his first national title 10 years later and then became World Life Master of WBF and Grand Life Master of ACBL.

David has won many national titles, including Vanderbilt's in 2005, 3 Mitchell (1982, 91, 2007), 2 Wernher (1982 and 1996), 3 Silodor (2004, 2006 and 2009), the 1991 Reisinger and 8 Grand National Teams (1994, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2023). He has also participated in many international competitions, winning several prestigious places and winning the 1999 Cap Gemini and the Warren Buffet Cup in 2006 and 2010.

In the 1990s, he was a bit in the shadows, he resumed playing with Larry Cohen and also won several national titles playing with his wife Lisa, who was three years younger and in turn a renowned bridge champion.

In 2010 he received the great honor of being read in the Hall of Fame of the American bridge.

In 2012 he was part of the US team that won the Buffett Cup, in 2013 he won the Transnational Open Teams in Bali, in 2015 the BAM Mixed Teams at the European team with his wife, in 2017 the D'Orsi Cup and in 2022 World Bridge Series he earned the silver in the Rand Cup and the bronze in the Senior Pairs.
