Massimo Lanzarotti è nato a Voghera il 13 febbraio del 1959 e nel decennio di fine secolo scorso è stato tra i migliori giocatori italiani.
World Life Master, sul piano nazionale oltre a innumerevoli piazzamenti ha vinto una ventina di titoli nazionali tra i quali ricordiamo i Campionati Italiani a Squadre del 1999, tre volte la Coppa Italia (1990, 1999 e 2001) e tre volte i Campionati Italiani a Coppie (1992, 1996 e 1997).
Sul piano internazionale ha vinto i Campionati Europei a Squadre nel 1995 e nel 1997 arrivando secondo in quelli del 2002, lo IOC del 1999, il Transnazionale Mondiale del 2003, la Rosenblum Cup del 1998, l'argento ai Campionati Europei a Coppie del 1989, l'argento ai Campionati Europei Open a Squadre nel 2013 e nel Politiken World Pairs 1995, il bronzo nella Champion Cup del 2004.
Oltre ad alcune medaglie conquistate nei Campionati del MEC, ha vinto tre titoli nella White House (1996/97), la Vanderbilt del 2005, due volte il Cavendish a Squadre (1996/97) ed una volta quello a Coppie (2005) e di il Patton di Biarritz (2003).
Nel 2005 Lanzarotti venne coinvolto in "The Tenerife Affair" che gli costò l'espulsione dalla ACBL.

World Life Master, at the national, level as well as countless placings, he won around twenty titles among which we remember Italian Teams Championships of 1999, the Italy Cup three times (1990, 1999 and 2001) and three times the Italian Pairs Championships (1992, 1996 and 1997).
On the international level he won the European Teams Championships in 1995 and 1997 and finished second in those of 2002, the IOC in 1999, the World Transnational Open Teams in 2003, the Rosenblum Cup of 1998, and he earned the silver at the European Pairs Championships of 1989, the silver at the European Open Teams Championships in 2013 and in the Politiken World Open in 1955, and the bronze in the Champions Cup 2004.
Besides some medals in the EE Championships, he won three titles in the White House (1996-97), the Vanderbilt (2005), twice Cavendish Team (1996-97) and once the Cavendish pairs (2005) and the Patton Biarritz (2003).
In 2005 Buratti became involved in "The Tenerife Affair" which cost him expulsion from the ACBL.
