Jean Cristophe è nato a Royan un paesino sulla costa atlantica francese nel 1966 e la sua famiglia gestisce da diverse generazioni la miglior pasticceria della regione.
Tra i migliori giocatori francesi, si mise presto in evidenza vincendo la medaglia d'argento ai Mondiali Juniores del 1987 e agli Europei della stessa categoria l'anno precedente.
Passato nella categoria Open si ripeteva conquistando l'argento ai Campionati Europei a Squadre del 1989, quella d'oro agli Europei a Coppie Miste dell'anno successivo e agli Europei a Coppie Open del 1991 e 1993.
Vincitori di diversi campionati nazionali e trofei internazionali tra cui ricordiamo il Patton di Biarritz nel 1987, fa il giornalista e come bridgista la sua principale dote è costituita da una grande presenza al tavolo.

He was born in Royan, a small seaside resort on the Atlantic, where his family has run for several generations the best patisserie in the region, particularly famous for its chocolate specialties.
JCQ already has a rich career behind him: European Junior Champion, runner-up in the World Junior Championship, two gold medals and one silver medal at the European Pairs Championships with Michel Abécassis (1991, 1993, 1997).
This is the third time he is playing in the French Open Team at a European Team Championship.
He finished second in Turku, 1989, playing with Christian Mari.
He loves movies and big cigars (will he become the Orson Welles of bridge later?), he is discreet yet passionate at the same time.
He is the complete player, and an excellent partner too, but his main virtue is….his table presence.
