Tom Quinlan conosciuto da tutti come "TQ" è nato nel 1942 a San Gabriel in California e si trasferì nella baia di San Francisco per laurearsi all'università di Berkeley.
Sposatosi con Janice Nakao si stabilì a San Mateo e fu per oltre 40 anni uno dei più noti e rispettati direttori di torneo del circuito USA.
TQ amò anche la musica e la cucina, tanto da coltivare da se le erbe aromatiche che usava per dare particolari sapori ai piatti da lui preparati.
TQ ricoprì svariati incarichi amministrativi per il Distretto 21 ed in particolare è ricordato per aver diretto a lungo il ben noto Contract Bridge Forum.
Morì il 26 giugno del 2018 dopo aver combattuto una breve battaglia con il cancro.
Tom Quinlan known to all as "TQ" was born in 1942 in San
Gabriel, California and moved to the bay of San Francisco to graduate from the
University of Berkeley.
Married to Janice Nakao, he settled in San Mateo and was for over 40 years one of the most famous and respected tournament directors on the US circuit.
TQ also loved music and cooking, so much so that he cultivated the aromatic herbs he used to give particular flavors to the dishes he prepared.
TQ held various administrative positions for District 21 and in particular is remembered for having long directed the well-known Contract Bridge Forum.
He died on June 26, 2018 after fighting a brief battle with cancer.
