Nato a Noordwijk in Olanda nel 1962, vive ad Hoorn, una città circa 50 Km a Nord di Amsterdam, con la moglie Maria Hayer e con la figlia Rianne.
Laureato in psicologia lavora nel campo delle ricerche sociali.
"The Professor", come viene soprannominato per le sue profonde pensate al tavolo, ha iniziato a giocare a bridge all'età di 11 anni ed è stato partner di tutti i migliori giocatori olandesi.
Bauker ha colto la sua più prestigiosa affermazione vincendo la Bermuda Bowl conquistata a Santiago del Cile nel 1993 ma, può vantare anche una medaglia di bronzo alle Olimpiadi di Salsomaggiore del 1992, l'oro conquistato agli Europei a Squadre di Tenerife nel 2005, il bronzo nella Bermuda Bowl del 2007 e l'oro negli Europei Transnazionali a Squadre del 2009.
Oltre a numerosi titoli nazionali ha anche vinto il Cavendish a squadre nel 1998, il Forbo Teams nel 2000 e la Champion Cup nel 2010.
Recentemente ha iniziato a giocare con Simon De Wijs un nuovissimo sistema di loro ideazione derivato dal Precision e chiamato "Tarzan", per onomatopeia con il nome della loro coppia Wijs-Muller che ricorda l'indimenticato interprete dei tanti film dell'eroe della jungla (Johnny Weissmuller).
La sua più prestigiosa affermazione arriva nel 2011 con la vittoria della seconda Bermuda Bowl dell'Olanda. Nello stesso anno coglie la seconda piazza nella Champion Cup ed ha colto la seconda piazza nella Champion Cup ed ha vinto la prima edizione dei World Mind nella Categoria Open Team.
Bauke Muller (born 17 February 1962) is a Dutch bridge
player living in Hoorn in the province North Holland.
He is married to Maria Hayer; they have one daughter Rianne.
Bauke is psychologist in the Centre for Work and Income.
He is nicknamed 'the professor' because of his habit of very long pauses for thought.
Bauke is the most experienced player in the Dutch National Team and the only remaining member of the team that won the Bermuda Bowl in Chile 1993.
He was World Champion Open Teams (Bermuda Bowl) in 1993, European Champion Open Teams (Tenerife) in 2005.
In 2007 he won the bronze medal at both the European Open Team Championships in Antalya and the World Open Teams Championships in Shanghai.
Apart from his world title, Bauke has won a bronze medal at the 1992 Olympiad, bronze in the Transnational open teams in 2003, a gold medal at the European open teams in 2005 and, most recently, another bronze at the 2007 European open.
He won many Dutch teams championships and the first Dutch Champion Cup (2010) followed by the second Dutch Bermudas Bowl in 2011. That same year, takes second place in the Champion's Cup and won the inaugural World Mind in Open Team Category.
