Bob è nato nel 1986 a Bergen op Zoom, un paesino dell'Olanda del sud una quarantina di Km. a nord di Anversa e vive a Rotterdam.
Parla olandese, inglese, tedesco e francese ed ha studiato Legge e Psicologia senza però laurearsi.
Fa parte di una famiglia di bridgisti ed è il terzo di tre fratelli. Ha iniziato a giocare a bridge a 9 anni sotto la guida del padre e del fratello maggiore Bas.
Oggi è un giocatore professionista di bridge e di poker che ama anche il tennis ed il volley.
Bob che non nasconde l'ambizione di arrivare a vincere una Bermuda Bowl, si è messo in luce sul piano internazionale arrivando terzo ai Mondiali Juniores a Coppie Open del 2003 giocando assieme al fratello maggiore Bas e vincendo il bronzo l'anno successivo ai Campionati Giovanili Europei a Squadre.
Nel 2008 ha vinto i Campionati Mondiali Universitari a Squadre e nel 2007 i Campionati Europei a Squadre Juniores nei quali ha fatto seguire un bronzo nel 2009.

Bob, that not hide his ambition to get to win a Bermuda Bowl, came to the fore on the international stage finishing third at the World Junior Pairs Open (2003) playing with his older brother Bas and winning the bronze medal the following year at European Youth Teams Championships.
He won the World University Teams Cup (2008) and the European Junior Teams Championships (2007) in which he followed up a bronze medal in 2009.
