Saralinda Jane "Sally" Brock è nata il 12 giugno del 1953 a Wiltshire una cittadina 60Km ad Est di Bristol e, dopo due precedenti esperienze matrimoniali contratte con due forti bridgisti quali Tony Sowter e Mark Horton, è rimasta vedova del terzo marito, il campione Raymond Brock che aveva sposato nel 1993.

Sally ha conosciuto il bridge in famiglia ed ha cominciato a giocarlo a 14 anni per poi approfondirlo durante la sua permanenza alla Nottingham University ed oggi vive nella cittadina di High Wycombe, a metà strada tra Londra ed Oxford, e lavora in una casa editrice di sua proprietà che pubblica la notissima rivista "Bridge Plus".
Sally è una World Women Grand Master della WBF ben piazzata nella classifica delle giocatrici in vita, pur avendo interrotto l'attività agonistica nel 1993 per occuparsi dei due figli avuti da Raymond.
Prima del 1993 aveva avuto modo di vincere due Campionati Europei a Squadre (1979, 1981) seguiti dall'argento nel 1985 e dal bronzo nel 1983 e 1987, due Venice Cup (1981 e 1985), due Olimpiadi Femminili a Squadre (1982, 1986) che si cumulano all'argento del 1984 ed il bronzo del 1980, nonché a tre Campionati a Squadre Femminili del MEC (1979, 1981 e 1993) accompagnati da un bronzo nell'Open (1991).
Nel periodo della maternità ricordiamo solo un argento al Campionati a Squadre Miste del MEC nel 1996.
Nel 2000 la Brock ha ripreso a giocare il bridge agonistico con regolarità e molto presto sono arrivati nuovamente i successi di sempre, ha vinto l'Europeo a Squadre Femminili nel 2001 e nel 2012, l'argento negli Europei Femminili Transnazionali del 2005, successi inframmezzati dal bronzo nelle Olimpiadi del 2004 e culminati con l'oro del 2008 e 2012 e con l'argento nella Venice Cup del 2013.
Nel 2014 sale nuovamente sul podio vincendo l'argento ai Campionati Europei a Squadre Femminili e l'oro ai World Bridge Women Teams e ai Giochi della Mente.
Nel 2016, dopo il bronzo agli IMSA Elite Mind Games sia nello Squadre Femminili che nell'Individuale Femminile arriva la vittoria del Campionato Europeo a Squadre Femminili e l'anno successivo l'argento nella Venice Cup e negli Elite Mind Games sia nello squadre che nel Coppie che nell'Individuale.
Nel 2018 ha vinto la McConnell e ha guadagnato l'argento nei World Mixed Teams, mentre, nel 2022 ha guadagnato il bronzo nella Venice Cup e nel Coppie Miste ai World Bridge Series.
Sally Brock was born in 1953 in
Wiltshire a
small town 60Km to the east of Bristol, and after two
previous experiences marriage contracted with two strong bridge
players such as Tony Sowter and Mark Horton, she was widowed of her
third husband, the champion Raymond Brock , who had married in
1993.
Sally knew the bridge in the family and began to play at 14 and then develop her ability during her time at Nottingham University.
Now she lives in High Wycombe, the town halfway between London and Oxford, and worked in a publishing house of her property which publishes the well-known magazine " Bridge Plus".
Sally is a WBF World Women Grand Master of the well-placed in the ranking of players in life, despite having broken the competitive activity in 1993 to care for two Raymond's sons.
Prior to 1993, had the opportunity to win two European Teams Championships (1979, 1981) followed by silver in 1985 and bronze in 1983 and 1987, two Venice Cup (1981 and 1985), two Olympic Women's Team (1982, 1986 ) that accumulate silver in 1984 and bronze in 1980, as well as, three gold medal in EC Women Team Championships (1979, 1981 and 1993) accompanied by a bronze in the Open (1991).
In the period of maternity we remember only a silver medal in the Mixed Teams Championships at the EC in 1996.
In 2000, Sally restarted to play regularly bridge competitive and very soon came again the successes of all time.
She won the European Women Teams Championship in 2001 and 2012, she earned a silver at 2005 European Women's Transnational Teams, successes interspersed from bronze in the Women Olympics of 2004 and culminating with the gold in 2008 and in 2012 and the silver in 2013 Venice Cup.
Finally, in 2014 she won the silver medal in the European Women Teams and the gold medal in the World Bridge Women Teams and in the World Mind Games. In 2016 she earn two bronze medal at the IMSA Elite Mind Games (Teams and Individuals) and the gold medal at European Women Teams Championships. The following year arrive the silver medal in the Venice Cup and in the Elite Mind Games in Teams, Pairs and Individuals.
In 2018 she won the McConnell and the silver medal in the World Mixed Teams and in 2022 she earned the bronze medal in Venice Cup and in Mixed Pairs at the World Bridge Series.
