Mark  HORTON

 Nato nel 1950, Mark che vive nella cittadina di Bath, è noto per essere il capo editore della European Bridge League, ma è anche un consulente che presta la sua opera in tutte le questioni connesse con il mondo di bridge. 

 Editore di Bridge Magazine fino al 1995, Ratty che è già stato sposato con la campionessa Sally Brock, è oggi il marito di Vera Nesterovich e vive in Romford una cittadina di circa a 30Km a est di Londra, dove si sposta spesso a causa del suo lavoro.

 Come giocatore Ratty ha vinto diversi titoli nazionali tra i quali ricordiamo la Crockford's Cup, la Spring Foursomes, i Grand Master Pairs e i Life Master Pairs; sul piano internazionale ha, invece, vinto "The Hoechst", la Dunhill Cup, l'argento nei Campionati a Squadre Misti del MEC nel 1996 ed è arrivato in finale nella Reisinger Cup americana. 

 Mark ha anche capitanato la squadra femminile della Gran Bretagna che si è aggiudicata la medaglia d'argento nelle Olimpiadi del 1992 a Salsomaggiore Terme.

 Ratty ha molti hobbies quali la lettura, la cucina, i vecchi film, il teatro (specialmente l'Opera e i Balletti), l'enologia e gli scacchi nei quali ha conquistato un paio di titoli inglesi di specialità.

Sposato con Liz Granato è dotato di un fantastico senso dell'humor che si riverbera nei suoi scritti.

Mark Horton (b1950) has been the Editor of Bridge Magazine since 1995.

Chief Editor to the European Bridge League he works free-lance on all aspects of bridge. His next book, a collaboration with Eric Rodwell, The Rodwell Files, is set to be a best seller on both sides of the Atlantic, and he is currently working on five new titles.

Winner of many UK National Championships including Crockford's Cup, The Spring Foursomes, the Grandmasters Pairs & the Life Masters Pairs. Mark has won major events all around the world, including the Hoechst and the Dunhill Cup. He has represented England and Great Britain on several occasions.

His infrequent appearances at the table are now mainly overseas, and he is currently looking for a sponsor for the ACBL Nationals.

Mark captained Great Britain's women when they won the Silver Medal in the 1992 Olympiad.

His main Hobbies are: Reading, cooking, theatre (especially opera and ballet), old movies, wine, chess (he was twice British Speed Champion) & watching sport.

HeiIs married to Liz Granato, and lives in Bath.

He can always raise a smile, even in adversity, and has a fantastic sense of humour. Hair now vanished. Tall, and still reasonably slim!
