Nevena Deleva Senior è nata il 21 settembre del 1959 a Sofia in Bulgaria ma, ora, vive a Nottingham in Gran Bretagna dove si è risposata con il noto giocatore, scrittore ed insegnante inglese Brian Senior.
Ha avuto due figli, di cui nato dal suo primo matrimonio, e ha giocato sia per la Bulgaria che per la Gran Bretagna cogliendo successi con entrambe le rappresentative.
Nevena, che parla bulgaro, inglese e francese, si è laureata all'Università di Sofia nel 1984 dove negli ultimi anni di studio è stata iniziata al bridge dal primo marito e dove ha colto la sua prima importante affermazione vincendo il Campionato Nazionale a Squadre Open.
Dopo il suo trasferimento in Inghilterra ha vinto numerosi Campionati Nazionali ed ha cominciato a riempire il suo palmares di titoli internazionali. Tra essi ricordiamo la vittoria per la Bulgaria ai Campionato Europeo a Coppie Femminili del 1987, seguita da tre bronzi, due per la Bulgaria ed uno per la Gran Bretagna, il bronzo alle Olimpiadi di Venezia per la Bulgaria e quello agli Europei Femminili del 2002 e agli Europei a Squadre Miste del 2007 per la Gran Bretagna.
Gli ultimi suo successi li ha colti ad Antalya nel 2007 conquistando l'argento sia negli Europei Femminili a Squadre che in quelli a Coppie , nel 2008 a Pechino ha vinto l'Olimpiade femminile e nel 2012 a Dublino ha vinto sia i Campionati Europei a Squadre Femminili che l'Olimpiade, arrivando poi terza ai Women Individual dei World Mind Games.
Nevena che ha mille interessi e poco tempo per coltivarli tutti come vorrebbe, è oggi una World Grand Master che ha anche vinto per l'Inghilterra anche lo Swiss Pairs del 2000 a Leicestershire ed il 5 Nazioni Lady Milne nonché nel 2013 l'argento nella Venice Cup e nei World Mind Games, sia nello Squadre Femminile che nel Coppie Femminile.
Nel 2014 sale nuovamente sul podio vincendo l'argento ai Campionati Europei a Squadre Femminili e l'oro ai Giochi della Mente bissato dal bronzo del 2016 sia nel Coppie che nello Squadre.
Sempre nel 2016 arriva una nuova medaglia d'oro al Campionato Europeo a Squadre Femminili seguita l'anno successivo dall'argento nella Venice Cup e negli Elite Mind Games.
Nel 2019 e nel 2022 due medaglie, stavolta di bronzo, nella Venice Cup, nel 2023 la vittoria nei Campionati Europei Femminili Transnazionali.
Nevena a Middlesex member and play almost
all at her club bridge in London-Andrew Robson's bridge club,
Young Chelsea bridge club, Ace of clubs bridge club and more.
In Bulgaria her best achievement was
winning the National Open Teams Championship.
In England she won numerous Ladies
Teams and finished in third place, two times in the Crockfords.
Internationally, she won 10 medals from
European and World Championships for three different countries
(on paper - as they are Bulgaria, Great Britain and England).
Her best achievement was winning the
1987 European Ladies Pairs in Brighton, the 2008 Mind Sports Olympiads in Beijing, the 2012 European Women's Team in Dublin
and the 2012 Women Teams Olympiads. Finally, always in 2012, she
earned the third place in the Women Individual at World Mind
Games.
In her free time she likes the gym, jigsaw
puzzles, reading, the Saturday Times crossword, football betting,
cooking, concerts, cinema, and theatre.
Unfortunately she work as a bridge pro and
live in Nottingham, it involves lots of traveling around the
country, and she lack free time to do everything she want to.

even
the Swiss
Pairs
of
Leicestershire
and 5
Nations
Lady
Milne
as well as the silver medal in 2013 Venice Cup and in 2013 World
Mind Games, both Women Teams and Women Pairs.
In 2014, newly
the silver medal at the European Women Teams and the gold medal
at World Mind Games given an encore by two bronze medal in 2016
(Women Teams and Women Pairs). Always in 2016 come the gold
medal in the European Women Teams followed the next year by the
silver medal in the Venice Cup and in the Elite Mind Games.
Finally, arrive two others
bronze medal in 2019 and 2022 Venice Cup and the gold in 2023
European Transnational Women Teams.
Nevena started playing bridge during her
final year at University, and her first husband introduced her
to the game.
