Tobi Sokolow Deutsch è nata nel 1942 ed è laureata in sociologia e biologia, vive ad Austin in Texas con il marito David un docente di Legge alla locale Università ed esercita la professione di broker fondiario.

 Grande camminatrice, editrice della newsletter della Unit di Phoenix, Tobi è una delle poche campionesse di vertice che non ha toccato le carte prima dei trent'anni.

Tobi si è anche dedicata alla vendita di opere d'arte seguendo le orme del suo unico figlio che di professione fa il restauratore.

Tra le prime venti World Grand Master della WBF, Tobi ha vinto la Venice Cup nel 1997 e nel 2003, arrivando alla piazza d'onore in quella del 1999 ed ha conquistato il Campionato del Mondo Individuale di Categoria nel 2004 a Verona.

Tobi ha anche conquistato la medaglia d'argento alle Olimpiadi di Istanbul nel 2004 e quella di bronzo a quelle di Pechino 2008 ed ha vinto la MC Connell Cup a Verona nel 2006.

Nel 2011 ha vinto la 1ª edizione dei World Mind nella Categoria Women Teams ed ha conquistato il bronzo in quella Women Individuals.

Sul piano Nazionale la Sokolow ha vinto una quindicina di titoli americani ai quali ha aggiunto una miriade di piazzamenti.

Among the top twenty of the WBF World Grand Master, Tobi won the Venice Cup in 1997 and 2003, arriving at the place of honor in the 1999 and won the World Championship Individual Category in 2004 in Verona.

Tobi also won the silver medal at the Olympics in Istanbul in 2004 and a bronze medal at the Beijing 2008 and she won the MC Connell Cup in Verona 2006.

In 2011she won the inaugural World Mind Teams in the Women category and earned the bronze medal in Women Individuals.

At the national level Sokolow won fifteen of American titles to which added a host of placings.
