Michael Gromöller è nato nel 1965 a Bamberga, ha frequentato le Scuole Commerciali e vive insegnando Bridge nel Club della sua città.
Ha iniziato a giocare a Bridge verso i 14 anni sotto la guida del padre e a 16 ha fatto la sua prima apparizione nella nazionale tedesca juniores.
Sposato senza figli il suo palmares comprende oltre ad una ventina di titoli nazionali: un bronzo nei Campionati Europei a Squadre del 2008, un bronzo nel Transnazionale Mondiale a Squadre del 2009, un oro, un bronzo e un argento nelle Champion Cup del 2006, 2007 e 2009, un argento nel Campionato Europeo a Coppie Seniores del 1991.
Guida del Bridge giovanile tedesco ha vinto da Allenatore l'argento agli Europei Juniores a Squadre del 1992, l'oro nei Mondiali Juniores a Squadre del 1993, e un Damiani Trophy nel 1996.
Ha anche scritto alcuni libri di successo in lingua tedesca.

Michael Gromoeller started playing bridge at the age of 14
and has since won 19 German Championships as well as the European Champions Cup
2006.
He was captain of the German Junior Teams that won a silver medal in Paris 1992 and a gold medal in the Wold-Team-Junior-Championships 1993 in Aarhus.
He has been a member of the German junior committee since 1986, also the chief organizer of the German junior camp since 1986.
Michael Gromoeller works as a bridge teacher who also runs bridge holidays for his students.
As a player, he attends many championships run by EBL and WBF.
