Gail Harte è nata a New York nel 1938 ed è un'insegnante e una giocatrice professionista tra le più note del bridge statunitense.
Suo padre, Stanley J. Harte (1910-1993) avvocato, è stato un noto costruttore.
World Grand Master e ACBL Grand Life Master, ha ricoperto tra i suoi numerosi incarichi, anche quelli di Vice Presidente del National Appeals Committee, membro del National Goodwill Committee e del National Chatiry Committe, Presidente della Greater New York Bridge Association.
Fondatrice del più grande circolo di bridge del Nord America: l'Honors Bridge Club in Park Avenue nel cuore di New York, Gail fa parte di quella che è forse la più numerosa ed importante famiglia di bridgisti americani.
Sposata in prime nozze con il Campione Nazionale Jack Greenberg e in seconde nozze con il Campione Nazionale Steve Shane con cui ha dato alla luce la campionessa del mondo Jillian Levin, ha sposato in terze nozze il Campione Nazionale Mike Moss, con cui ha dato alla luce Brad e Andrew, che sono stati entrambi ACBL King of Bridge (rispettivamente nel 1989 e nel 1991).
Gail potendo schierare il primo marito Jackie Greenberg, il secondo marito Steve Shane, il terzo marito Mike Moss, la cognata Sylvia Moss, i tre figli Jill Levin, Brad Moss e Andrew Moss, potrebbe mettere in campo il più forte Family Team del mondo.
Dal canto suo, Gail ha vinto le Venice Cup del 1976 e del 1978, le Olimpiadi del 1980 e del 1984 ed ha riportato numerosi altri prestigiosi piazzamenti con la nazionale del suo Paese, oltre ad aver anche vinto molti titoli nazionali e regionali.
La sorella Alisan Harte ha fondato nel 2000 l'Harte's Club uno dei migliori club di White Plains.

largest bridge club and unlike any other public bridge club in the world. As
soon as you walk into the elegant foyer you know you’re in for a quality
experience. The founder, Gail Greenberg, is one of the jewels of the bridge
world.
She has won five world championships and numerous national championships. Gail probably holds the record for the longest consecutive attendance at the North American Bridge Championships — she hasn’t missed a NABC since 1964! She’s been an advocate of bridge in many ways.
She is past-president of the Greater New York Bridge Association, past-president of the District, has served on the National Ethical Oversight Committee, the National Appeals Committee, and the Women’s Trials Committee. With all of this, plus a very active role in Honors, you might think that she would start winding down, but the opposite is true. Recently she started a sister club in Westchester, New York — with her sister Alisan Harte. Gail didn’t go into the bridge business because she wanted to run a company but because the game did so much for her and so enriched her life that she wanted to “give back” by establishing a club that fosters the learning and enjoyment of the game.
Today Gail remained the principal owner, and Laurie Vogel joined the team.
