Nato nel 1946 a Napoli da padre napoletano e da madre austro-ungarica, all'età di 17 anni si è trasferito a Milano dove, durante il terzo Liceo, ha conosciuto per la prima volta il Bridge.
Divorziato, ha vissuto per una decina di anni a Lugano per motivi di lavoro ed ha anche trovato il modo per diventare uno dei migliori giocatori italiani degli anni '70, tanto da guadagnare il titolo di World Grand Master.
Si mise in luce guadagnando la piazza d'onore ai Campionati Europei a Squadre Juniores del 1970.
Facendo parte del favoloso Blue Team ha vinto due volte la Bermuda Bowl nel 1974 e nel 1975, ha preso una medaglia d'argento alle Olimpiadi di Montecarlo nel 1976 ed ha vinto 3 volte il Campionato Europeo nel '73, '75 e '79.
Ha anche vinto l'argento in un MEC a Coppie Miste e l'oro in un MEC a Squadre Open.
Nell'83 si ritirò dalla Nazionale e da quel momento ha continuato a frequentare il mondo del bridge solo come amatore.
Giocatore dal carattere difficile ma dalla tecnica eccezionale, rappresentando il team azzurro ha conquistato anche molto prestigiosi piazzamenti e, con le varie squadre di cui ha fatto parte, ha vinto molte competizioni nazionali ed alcune altre importanti gare internazionali.

As part of the fabulous Blue Team, has twice won the Bermuda Bowl in 1974 and 1975, took a silver medal at the Olympics in Monte Carlo in 1976 and won the European Championship three times in '73, '75 and '79.
He also won silver in the Mixed Pairs in MEC and MEC in a gold Team Open.
In 1983 withdrew from the National and since then has continued to attend the bridge world only as an amateur.
Player difficult character but by the exceptional technique, representing the blue team won very prestigious and placings, with the various teams he is a part, has won many national competitions and some other major international competitions.
