Catherine Saul sposata D'Ovidio, è nata a "Le Raincy" nel 1959 e ha cominciato a giocare a bridge nel 1978 dopo aver abbandonato gli studi per la sua grande passione di quel tempo: il teatro.
Ha esordito a Villemonble lo stesso club nel quale ha fatto il suo debutto un altro grande campione francese: Michel Perron.
Catherine dopo aver lavorato come controller in un azienda erogatrice del gas, è oggi un'impiegata della Federazione Francese e dal 1998 è divenuta direttrice di "Le Friedland" che è il più grande club di Parigi.
Sposata con Pierre D'Ovidio, anche lui valido bridgista, Catherine, che è la più forte giocatrice francese in attività, ha una figlia di nome Elodie e vive nell'hinterland parigino a Courbevoie.
Ha vinto una Venice Cup nel 2005 e nel 2011, 5 Campionati Europei a Squadre Ladies, tre Campionati Europei a Squadre Miste, un Campionato Europeo a Coppie Miste, due consecutivi IOC Grand Prix, la Mc Connel Cup di Montreal, il World Transnational Mixed Teams di Istanbul 2004 e l'Europeo Open Woman di Tenerife nel 2005.
Catherine nota nell'ambiente con il soprannome di "The Genius", ha inoltre conseguito un gran numero di altre vittorie e piazzamenti in competizioni nazionali ed internazionali tanto da conquistare il titolo di World Grand Master e una delle prime posizioni della relativa classifica edita dalla WBF.
Nel 2009 è tornata sul podio più ambito conquistando il bronzo nella Venice Cup.

Catherine has worked as a credit controller for a gas company and today she is an employed of French Federation and the Manager of a Bridge Club in Courbevoie.
She won a Venice Cup in 2005 and 2011, 5 European Teams Ladies, 3 European Mixed teams, one European Mixed Pairs, 2 IOC Grand Prix, one Mc Connel Cup, one World Transnational Teams and one European Transnational Ladies Teams.
World Woman Grand Master in 2009 she still won the bronze medal in Venice Cup.
