Warren  SPECTOR

 

 Warren Spector è nato a Washington DC il 15 dicembre 1957 ed è cresciuto a Chevy Chase una cittadina del Maryland poco a Nord della capitale.

 Si è diplomato presso il St. John’s College di Annapolis e si è laureato presso l’Università di Chicago nel 1983.

 Dopo la laurea ha lavorato presso la Bear Stearns dove ha fatto carriera fino ad entrare nel Comitato Esecutivo nel 1993 e a divenirne Presidente nel 2001.

 Nel 2007 ha lasciato la BS ed ha fondato la Tashtego Films e, inoltre, è divenuto Presidente della InSolve Capital un fondo di investimento privato.

 Amante del teatro, è anche Presidente del Public Theater uno dei teatri più attivi del paese tra quelli senza fini di lucro.

 Nel mondo del teatro ha conosciuto la moglie Margaret Whitton, attrice e regista ed oggi Presidente della Tasthego Films.

 Il bridge lo ha conosciuto al liceo quando aveva 15 anni e nel 1976 è stato King of Bridge, poi ha lasciato l’agonismo per dedicarsi alla sua carriera e non ha giocato in un grande evento per 28 anni di fila.

 Nel 2004 il vecchio amore è tornato a galla e ha ricominciato a fare agonismo a livello nazionale arrivando secondo nella Spingold e vincendo 6 volte il Grand National Teams.

 Nel 2005 ha vinto l’argento nel Transnational Open Teams ed ha guadagnato il titolo di World International Master, mentre, nel 2018 ha vinto il bronzo nella Rosenblum.

Warren Spector was born on December 15, 1957 in Washington DC and grew up in nearby suburb Chevy Chase, Maryland.  He has a BA from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland and an MBA from the University of Chicago.  Upon graduating in 1983, he moved to New York where he joined Bear Stearns.  He became a Senior Managing Director in less than 5 years and a member of the Executive Committee in less then 10 years.  In 2001, he became President and Co-Chief Operating Officer and remained so until he resigned from the firm in 2007.

Since then Warren founded independent film company, Tashtego Films, which released its first film “A BIRD OF THE AIR” in 2011.  He is also the Chairman of In Solve Capital, a private equity fund.

Warren has a strong interest in theater.  He enjoys serving as the Chairman of the Board of The Public Theater, one of the most active nonprofit theaters in the country. Every year they put on Shakespeare in the Park, free productions of Shakespeare in Central Park. This program has given away over 5 million free theater seats in past years.  Warren even met his wife, Margaret Whitton, actor and director, through the theater.  Today, Margaret is President of Tashtego Films.

From age 15-18, Warren played bridge in high school. He was the King of Bridge in 1976.  In that year, he gave up the game.  He decided to focus on his education and his career. He did not play in any major event for 28 years.

In 2004, in his very first national team game, he came in second in the Spingold and winning six times the Grand National Teams.

He earned a second position in the 2005 World Transnational Teams and a bronze medal in the 2018 Rosenblum, he is also a World International Master.
