Nato a Roma nel 1945 fa il farmacista ed è un Wold Life Master che coglie la sua prima vittoria internazionale a soli 15 anni nel Campionato del MEC riservato alle squadre Juniores del 1960 che poi vince ancora 11 anni più tardi.
In ambito nazionale ha vinto due titoli nel misto (1971 e 1973) ed un oro nella Categoria Seniores (2005).
Sul piano internazionale la sua vittoria più prestigiosa resta l'oro negli Europei a squadre del 1975 ma, brillano anche i due secondi posti agli Europei del 1974 e l'argento delle Olimpiadi del 1976.
