Silvio Sbarigia è nato a Roma il 20 ottobre del 1945, farmacista, è stato un World Life Master che ha colto la sua prima vittoria internazionale a soli 15 anni nel Campionato del MEC riservato alle squadre Juniores del 1960 che poi vincerà ancora 11 anni più tardi.
In ambito nazionale ha vinto 5 ori tra i quali ricordiamo i due titoli nel Misto a Squadre (1971 e 1973) e l'oro nella Categoria Seniores (2005).
Sul piano internazionale la sua vittoria più prestigiosa resta l'oro negli Europei a squadre del 1975 ma, brillano anche i due secondi posti agli Europei del 1974 e l'argento delle Olimpiadi del 1976.
Silvio si è spento il 14 marzo del 2023.

Il fratello Pietro Sbarigia è stato anche lui un forte bridgista che ha vinto a livello nazionale 6 ori, 4 argenti e due bronzi e che a livello internazionale si è fregiato dell'oro nei Campionati Juniores del MEC del 1971, dell'argento nei Campionati Juniores Europei del 1970 e del bronzo nei Campionati Transnazionali Europei del 2003.

Il figlio Matteo Sbarigia è un World Master che ha fatto più volte parte delle nazionali giovanili azzurre e che ha vinto a livello mondiale ha vinto due argenti nel 2002 con la squadra universitaria e nel 2006 con quella juniores, e a livello europeo un oro (2003) e due argenti a livello universitario (1997 e 1998), nonché un argento negli europei juniores nel 2005.
A livello nazionale Matteo ha vinto due ori nei Campionati Under 25 del 2003 e del 2004.
Silvio Sbarigia was born in Rome

Nationally, he has won 5 gold medals, including two titles in Mixed Teams (1971 and 1973) and gold in the Seniors Category (2005).
On an international level, his most prestigious victory remains gold in the 1975 European team championships, but the two second places at the 1974 European Championships and silver at the 1976 Olympics also shine.
Silvio passed away on March 14, 2023.
His brother Pietro Sbarigia was also a strong bridge player who won 6 golds, 4 silvers and two bronzes at national level and who at international level boasted gold in the 1971 MEC Junior Championships and silver in the European Junior Championships of 1970.
His son Matteo Sbarigia is a World Master who has been part of the blue youth national teams several times and who has won two silver medals in 2002 with the university team and in 2006 with the junior team, and one gold medal at European level (2003) and two silver medals at university level (1997 and 1998), as well as a silver medal in the junior Europeans in 2005.
At national level Matteo won two gold medals in the Under 25 Championships in 2003 and 2004.
