Jérôme Rombaut è nato il 13 marzo del 1974 a Les Chesnay, un paese 40Km a NE di Le Havre, ed è uno dei migliori giocatori francesi in attività.
Ha iniziato a giocare a 15 anni con il suo compagno di studi Laurent Bouscarel, oggi anche lui un buon giocatore di livello nazionale, e molto presto ha cominciato a far parte delle squadre nazionali giovanili francesi.
Sposato e divorziato dalla moglie Céline Finez che gli ha dato tre figli, oggi vive a Lys-Lez-Lannoy un paese poco a Nord di Lille con la campionessa Vanessa Reess.
Lavora come ingegnere presso la Go To Software, una società da lui fondata nel 2000, che ha sede ad Hem un paese poco lontano da dove vive, nella quale ha sviluppato Fun Bridge, una piattaforma multilingua piuttosto diffusa in diversi Paesi a livello mondiale.
È anche un collaboratore abituale della prestigiosa rivista "Le Bridgeur".
Jerome è un World International Master che ha vinto diversi titoli nazionali e che fa spesso parte della nazionale maggiore del suo Paese.
Sul piano internazionale ha vinto i Campionati Europei Giovanili del 1994 e la medaglia di bronzo in quelli Universitari del 1999 e nel White House del 2007.
Nel 2017 coglie il risultato più prestigioso con l'argento nella Bermuda Bowl.

Più volte capitano della squadra Nazionale femminile con la quale ha colto diversi allori a livello internazionale, nel 2016 vince i Campionati Europei a Squadre Open, nel 2017 è primo negli Elite Mind Games a squadre e terzo in quelli a coppie, nel 2019 vince il Cavendish Teams.
Il maggiore dei suoi tre figli Leo Rombaut, nato l'11 ottobre del 1993, sta calcando le orme paterne avendo vinto un bronzo agli Europei Giovanili del 2017, un argento ai Mondiali Giovanili dell'anno successivo ed un altro bronzo ai Mondiali Transnazionali a Coppie U21.
Poi, nel 2022 finalmente l'oro ai Transnazionali Mondiali U21.
Nella stessa squadra padre e figlio hanno vinto il Patton di Biarritz nel 2021.

Married and divorced by his wife Céline Finez who gave him three children, he now lives in Lys-Lez-Lannoy, a town just north of Lille with the champion Vanessa Reess.
Engineer, he found a company called Go To Software which is based in Hem, a country not far from where he lives and were has developed Fun Bridge, a multilingual platform quite widespread in several countries worldwide.
He is also a regular contributor to the prestigious "Le Bridgeur" magazine.
Jerome is a World International Master who has won several national titles and is often part of his country's senior national team.
On an international level, he won the European Youth Championships in 1994 and the bronze medal in the University Championships in 1999 and in the White House in 2007.
In 2017 he captures the most prestigious result with silver in the Bermuda Bowl.
Several times captain of the women's national team with which he has won several laurels at the international level, in 2016 he won the European Open Team Championships, in 2017 he was first in the Elite Mind Games in teams and third in those in pairs, in 2019 he won the Cavendish Teams.
The eldest of his three children Leo Rombaut, born on 11 October 1993, is walking in his father's footsteps having won a bronze at the European Youth Championships in 2017, a silver at the World Youth Cup the following year and an other bronze at Transnational Pairs Word U21.
Finally, in 2022 he won the Transnational World Teams Under 21.
Teamed they won the 2021 Patton of Biarritz.
