Shawn Quinn ha la sua casa a Katy nel circondario di Huston ed una delle texane che si è formata alla scuola del grande Bob Hamman.

Ha
studiato ad Irvine presso la University of California e presso la
Western State University of Law di Fullerton.
Shawn ha cominciato a giocare nel
1981 con sua madre tanto per passare il tempo ma è stata conquistata dal bridge
e
suo marito Joe è uno dei suoi partner favoriti.
Negli anni '90 ha cominciato la sua ascesa internazionale vincendo 10 dei principali campionati Nord Americani, poi due ori olimpici consecutivi conquistati nelle Olimpiadi Ladies del 1996 e del 2000 inframmezzati dalla vittoria nel Campionato Mondiale Ladies a Coppie di Lille 1998, l'argento nella Venice Cup del 2000, negli IOC Grand Prix del 1999, 2000 e 2002 e nella Mc Connel Cup di Montreal 2002, infine, il bronzo nella Mc Connel Cup di del 1998 e nella Venice Cup del 2001.
Tutte queste vittorie gli hanno procurato il titolo di World Woman Grand Master ed una delle prime posizioni nella classifica della WBF relativa alle giocatrici di ogni tempo.
Nel 2009 si è trasferita per qualche tempo a Cracovia con il marito John e, nelle pause professionali di quest'ultimo, hanno esplorato insieme con successo sia il bridge polacco che quello europeo.

Shawn started playing in 1981 with his mother just to pass the time but was conquered by the bridge and her husband Joe is a partner of her favorites.
In the '90s she began his ascent by winning 10 of the International North American major leagues, then won two consecutive Olympic gold medals (1996 and 2000) interspersed with victory in the World Ladies Championship Pairs of Lille (1998), silver in Venice Cup (2000), in the IOC Grand Prix (1999, 2000 and 2002) and Mc Connell Cup in Montreal (2002), finally, she earned the bronze medal in Mc Connell Cup 1998 and the Venice Cup 2001.
Today she is a World Woman Grand Master and one of the top positions in the ranking of the WBF on women players of all time.
In 2009 she moved to Krakow for some time with her husband John and, in the pauses of that professional, have explored together successfully Polish and European Bridge.
