Eddy Manoppo è nato nel 1945 a Manado, un grosso centro commerciale sito nell'isola indonesiana di Sulawesi all'estremo Nord Est del Paese, dove vive lavorando come dirigente governativo e coltivando le sue due grandi passioni: il bridge e la caccia.
Sposato con quattro figli, Eddy ha imparato il bridge dai suoi parenti quando aveva solo 17 anni.
Eddy che è un Worlfd Life Master ed è anche al secondo posto nella classifica dei Senior International Master, ha giocato spesso in coppia con il fratello Freddy, fin quando nel 1974, una inchiesta della WBF non ha provocato lo scioglimento della coppia nelle competizioni ufficiali.
Eddy è stato molte volte campione del Far East ed ha riportato lusinghieri piazzamenti in diversi tornei internazionali tra i quali ricordiamo la medaglia d'oro nelle Olimpiadi Invernali di Losanna del 2000 e nella NEC Cup del 1997 a Yokohama, quelle d'argento nella Rosenblum Cup del 2002 a Montreal e nelle Olimpiadi di Rodi del 1996.
Passato alla categoria Senior, Eddy ha conquistato l'argento nei Mondiali di Estoril del 2005 e in quelli di Shanghai 2007.
Eddy Manoppo was born in 1945 in Manado, a large shopping center situated on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi in the extreme north east of the country, where he lives working as an executive government and cultivating his two great passions: hunting and bridge.
Married with four children, Eddy has learned bridge from his parents when he was only 17 years.
Eddy is a Worlfd Life Master and is also second in the ranking of the Senior International Master, played often in tandem with his brother Freddy, until in 1974, an inquiry by the WBF has not caused the dissolution of the couple in official competitions.
Eddy was many times champion in the Far East and reported gratifying placing in several international tournaments among which the gold medal in the Winter Olympics in Lausanne in 2000 and the 1997 NEC Cup in Yokohama, the silver in the Rosenblum Cup the 2002 Montreal Olympic Games in Rhodes in 1996.
Passed to the Senior category, Eddy won the silver medal in the 2005 World Championships in Estoril and than in 2007 Shanghai.
