Enri, ultimo di 5 fratelli, è nato a Maastricht nel 1963, è sposato con Oda dal 1991 e vive a Zeist nei pressi di Utrecht dove lavora in Cap Gemini come client director  nel settore Fisco e Sicurezza Sociale per il mercato olandese. 

 Enri si è laureato in psicologia ed ha due figli: Lotte (1992) che ha già una giovane campionessa e Felix (1986) che è anche lui già innamorato perso per il Bridge.

 Enri, che oggi è un World Life Master, ha imparato a giocare a bridge ad 11 anni dalla madre ed ha continuato a giocare in casa fino all'età di 17 quando ha partecipato al primo grande torneo della sua vita: lo Junior Pairs della European Community.

 Qualche anno più tardi, dopo aver formato una solida coppia con Berry Westra, ha vinto l'Europeo Juniores a Squadre del 1986 e il Mondiale a Squadre Juniores dell'anno successivo.

Passato nel circuito Open ha conquistato il bronzo agli Europei di Villamoura nel 1995, passando per la vetta dell'agonistica mondiale con la conquista della Bermuda Bowl nel 1993 a Santiago del Cile.

Ricordiamo anche il secondo posto nella Cap Gemini del 1992 e l'esperienza maturata come coach della nazionale femminile che nel 2005 ha conquistato il bronzo nella Venice Cup di Estoril e con quella Giovanile Under 26 stesso metallo nel 2009 con Lotte in squadra.

Al di fuori del Bridge, Enri ama suonare il piano, fare lunghe corse e giocare a tennis e spera di poter riprendere il gioco ad alto livello quando i suoi bellissimi figli lasceranno la casa paterna.

Enri, the youngest of six brothers, was born in Maastricht in 1963, live in Zeist (near Utrecht) and is married to Oda in 1991. They have two children: Lotte (1982) who won bronze at the World Team Champiosnhips in October 2010 in Philadelphia (USA), and Felix (14), also a fanatic bridge player already.

Enri is currently worked for Capgemini as a client director for the Dutch Tax&Welfare market.

Enri, who is now a World Life Master, learned to play bridge at the age of 11 by his mother and went on to play at home until the age of 17 when he attended the first major tournament of his life: the European EUBL Junior Pairs.

A few years later, after having formed a solid pair with Berry Westra, Enri won the Junior European Team in 1986 and the Junior World Team the following year.
Enri's firstappearance int the Open was in 1987 in Birghton (UK). 

He won the bronze medal at the Team Olympiad in 1992 in salsomaggiore (Italy), and also bronze at the European Championships in Villamoura in 1995, rising to the top of the World with the conquest of the Bermuda Bowl in 1993 in Santiago, Chile.

We also remember the second place in the 1992 Cap Gemini and experience as coach of the women who in 2005 won the bronze medal in the Venice Cup in Estoril and with the same metal Youth Under 26 in 2009.

About the future, Enri said of himself to infobridge: for the coming years maybe captain/coach of national teams. When the children leave the house I might play bridge on a high level again.
