Patrice Piganeau è nato a Bordeaux il 21 maggio del 1947 ed è stato un manager dell'Aventis oggi in pensione che vive a L'Eguille una cittadina a metà strada tra Nantes e Bordeaux.
Sposato con Elisabeth, anche lei nota bridgista francese, hanno una figlia.
Patrice che ama molto la lettura si è messo in luce vincendo i Campionati del MEC per Squadre Juniores nel 1973, poi dopo il pensionamento ha colto i suoi migliori risultati internazionali nella Categoria Seniores, vincendo il Transnazionale Europeo nel 2011 dopo aver guadagnato l'argento nel 2007, un altro argento lo ha conquistato nei Campionati Europei a Coppie nel 2007, ed infine, è salito sul tetto del mondo vincendo la Coppa D'Orsi nel 2011.
Nel 2006 aveva anche conquistato un bronzo nel Campionato Europeo Seniores a Squadre a cui ha fatto seguire l'oro nel 2012, anno in cui ha anche conquistato il bronzo alle Olimpiadi nello Squadre Senior.
Patrice è scomparso il 7 agosto del 2020 a Royan dove viveva con la famiglia.

Patrice who loves reading was highlighted by winning the Junior Teams Championships for MEC in 1973, then after retirement took his best international results in the Senior category, winning the European Transnational in 2011 after earning silver in 2007, he has won another silver in the European Pairs Championships in 2007, and finally climbed on top of the world by winning the D'Orsi Coup in 2011.
In 2006 he also won a bronze medal in European Championship Senior Team followed by gold medal in 2012. In the same year he earned the bronze medal in Senior Teams Olympiads.
Patrice is disappeared 2020, August 7 in Royan where he lived whit his family.
