 Dal 1995 ai
preesistenti Campionati Europei a Squadre (Open e Femminili) è stata affiancata
una competizione riservata ai giocatori Seniores.
In
questa competizione, tutti i giocatori seniores di una Squadra devono far
parte dello stesso Paese.
Dopo un
iniziale indiscusso predominio di francesi e polacchi, nelle ultime edizioni si
stanno affacciando sul anche podio altre Nazioni ma, l'Italia è
riuscita a vincere la sua medaglia, un bronzo, nel 2010.

Originally held in Scheveningen, The Netherlands, in 1932, the European
Bridge Team Championships became the principal competition organized by
the European Bridge League for teams representing the member countries.
The
senior series became part of the competition much later, in 1995. Since
2002, the European Team Championships are held every even-numbered year.
All
in all, France are won most medals (3 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze).
In
2010 the Senior series will be played as a
single complete round robin provided that the number of participating
countries is sufficient. It is anticipated that matches will be of 16 or
20 boards, depending on the number of matches played. |
