Victor  MARKOWICZ

 Victor Markowics è nato nel 1944 in un campo di lavoro stalinista russo dove era stati internati i suoi genitori. Dopo la guerra è rientrato in Polonia ed ha studiato Matematica all'Università di Varsavia ma ha completato i suoi studi al Politecnico di Haifa dove la sua famiglia si trasferì nel 1964.

 Al termine degli studi si specializzò nel disegno software e creò il programma per il primo computer commerciale israeliano l'ELBIT-100.

 Nel 1970 emigrò negli USA dove nel New Jersey creò la prima lotteria nazionale americana e co-fondò la GTECH Corporation che disegnò la maggior parte delle lotterie americane nonché quelle di altri 40 Paesi.

 Victor è stato anche un allevatore di cavalli e un produttore di film.

 Oggi vive tra New York e la Florida con sua moglie Monica e continua ad essere un attivo investitore.

 Benefattore benemerito ha co-fondato il Museo della Storia degli Ebrei Polacchi.

Quando si è ritirato dai suoi molti impegni imprenditoriali ha potuto dedicare maggior tempo al Bridge divenendo un Campione della Categoria Seniores.

Gareggiando per la Polonia, ha vinto l'argento  nella Senior Bowl del 2009 ed il bronzo in quelle del 2011, 2013 e 2015. Ha vinto l'oro nel Mondiale Transnazionale a Squadre Senior del 2006 e l'argento nel 2008

Senior Grand Master, ha anche vinto il Campionato Europeo per Squadre Senior nel 2010 arrivando al bronzo in quelli del 2012 e del 2016 e negli Europei Open ha conquistato il bronzo nei Transnazionali del 2007. 

  Victor Markowics was born in 1944 in a Russian Stalinist labor camp where had been interned  his parents. After the war he returned to Poland and studied mathematics at the University of Warsaw but he completed his studies at the University of Haifa, where his family moved in 1964.

After completing his studies he specialized in design software and created the program for the first commercial computer ELBIT the Israeli-100.

In 1970 he emigrated to the USA where in New Jersey created the first national lottery American and co-founded the GTECH Corporation, who designed most of the American lotteries as well as those of 40 other countries.

Victor was also a horse breeder and a film producer.

He now lives between New York and Florida with his wife Monica and continues to be an active investor.

Benefactor worthy co-founded the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

When he retired from his many business commitments could devote more time to the Bridge and became a champion of the Senior Category.

Competing for Poland, she won silver in the Senior Bowl in 2009 and the bronze in the 2011, 2013 and 2015. He won gold in the World Transnational Senior Teams in 2006 and silver in 2008.

Senior Grand Master, has also won the European Championships for Senior's Teams in 2010 reaching the bronze in 2012 and 2016 and in the Open European Championships he won the bronze medal in the 2007 Transnational.
