Nata a Beirut nel 1914, Rina Penso Jabes è stata una delle più forti giocatrici del mondo negli anni '70 ed è una delle poche bridgiste italiane ad aver guadagnato il titolo di World Life Master della WBF.

Rina inizia a giocare a Bridge quando la sua famiglia si trasferisce al Cairo e nei circoli della capitale egiziana conosce Sacco Jabes che sposerà quasi subito. Già a quei tempi Rina e Sacco fanno parte di una Squadra che da vera outsider vincerà i Campionati di Alessandria del 1946 e del 1948.
Trasferiti si a Milano i due coniugi si mettono subito in evidenza e Rina entra a far parte della nazionale femminile azzurra già nel 1950.
I Jabes in coppia vincono la Coppa Italia del 1953, mentre, Rina con Vito Gandolfi vince il Coppie Open del 1955. Sono le prime perle di un collana che diverrà sempre più prestigiosa.
Rina vincerà due Olimpiadi Ladies consecutive e guadagnerà l'argento nella Venice Cup di Venezia, poi trionferà in 4 Campionati Europei Ladies consecutivi a partire dal 1970, guadagnerà una messe di medaglie ai Campionati del MEC vincendo lo Squadre Femminile nel 1971 e nel 1973 e collezionerà diversi altri titoli nazionali.
Si è ritirata dal bridge agonistico nel 1977 dopo essersi vista conferire l'onorificenza di Cavaliere del Lavoro per meriti sportivi.
Rina ci ha lasciato nell'aprile del 2010 e Sacco l'ha seguita pochi mesi più tardi.

Rina started playing Bridge when his family moved to Cairo and in the circles of the Egyptian capital she will meet Sacco Jabes that he will marry almost immediately. Already at that time Rina Sacco and are part of a team that truly by out sider will win championships of Alexandria in 1946 and 1948.
The Jabes moved to Milan and immediately they are highlight while Rina joined the national ladies in 1950.
The married pair will win the Cup in Italy in 1953, while Rina with Vito Gandolfi will win the Open Pairs in 1955. They are the first beads of a necklace that will become always more prestigious.
Rina will win two consecutive Olympiads Ladies and will earn the silver medal in the Venice Cup in Venice and then she will triumph in four consecutive Ladies Teams European Championships since 1970, she will earn several medals at the EEC Championships winning the Ladies Teams in 1971 and 1973.
Besides, she will collect several other national titles.
She retired from competitive bridge in 1977 after having conferred the honor of Knight of Labour to sporting merit.
Rina has left us in April 2010 and Sacco has followed a few months later.
