Grattan Endicott è nato a Coventry non lontano da Birmingham il 12 gennaio del 1924, ma ha vissuto a Liverpool fin dal 1947.

 Divorziato, ha avuto due figli ed è arrivato ad essere un amato trisnonno.

 Interprete nella Royal Navy durante l'ultima guerra, negli anni successivi ha fatto carriera nel settore del gioco d'azzardo organizzando il famoso Pools Panel delle scommesse calcistiche inglesi.

 Nel 1998 la Regina lo nominò Ufficiale dell'Ordine dell'Impero Britannico e dopo il suo pensionamento divenne segretario e amministratore delegato della Fondazione per lo Sport e le Arti.

 Membro di diversi Laws Committees sia EBL che WBF, è stato considerato come un autorità nell'interpretazione delle Leggi.

 Premiato nel 2005 con la Medaglia d'Oro della WBF, è stato capitano non giocatore della Squadra Femminile Britannica che ha vinto i Mondiali del 1985 per poi conquistare il bronzo agli Europei del 1977 e l'argento alle Olimpiadi del 1988.

 Come giocatore ha vinto la Tollemache Cup del 1975.

 Grattan si è spento pacificamente alla veneranda età di 97 anni il 25 aprile del 2021.

  Grattan Endicott was born in Coventry, not far from Birmingham, on 12 January 1924, but had lived in Liverpool since 1947.

Divorced, he had two children and went on to become a beloved great-great-grandfather.

An interpreter in the Royal Navy during the last war, in later years he made a career in the gambling industry by organising the famous Pools Panel of English football betting.

In 1998 the Queen appointed him an Officer of the Order of the British Empire and after his retirement he became secretary and chief executive of the Foundation for Sport and the Arts.

A member of several Laws Committees both EBL and WBF, he was regarded as an authority on the interpretation of the Laws.

Awarded the WBF Gold Medal in 2005, he was the non-playing captain of the British Women's Team that won the 1985 World Cup before going on to win bronze at the 1977 European Championships and silver at the 1988 Olympics.

He has been Tollemache winner in 1975.

Grattan passed away peacefully at the ripe old age of 97 on 25 April 2021.
