Einar Werner, professore di matematica, ha ospitato negli anni '50 nella sua casa gli uffici della Federazione svedese di cui lui è stato a lungo segretario.

 Nato nel 1901 a Stoccolma, ha scritto alcuni libri di bridge e ha vinto i Campionati Europei a Squadre nel 1939 e nel 1952, arrivando all'argento in quelli del 1948, 1949 e 1950.

 Inoltre, ha conquistato l'argento nella prima Bermuda Bowl (1950) e in quella del 1953.

 Ha anche capitanato alcune nazionali svedesi ed ha ricoperto alcuni incarichi per conto della WBF.

 Einar ci lasciò nel 1971.

 Un libro di bridge "Il filo conduttore al tavolo verde" Einar lo firmò assieme a sua moglie Britta Werner, che è nata nel 1912 a Stoccolma ed è stata una delle migliori giocatrici svedesi nella seconda metà dello scorso secolo.

 Ha vinto i Campionati Europei Femminili a Squadre del 1962 e del 1967 e le Olimpiadi Femminili del 1968.

I Werner sono tra i pochissimi coniugi, se non forse gli unici,  a potersi vantare della vittoria, ciascuno nella propria categoria, di un titoli Europeo.

  Einar Werner, a mathematics professor, hosted the offices of the Swedish Federation in his home in the 1950s, of which he was long secretary.

Born in 1901 in Stockholm, he wrote some bridge books and won the European Team Championships in 1939 and 1952, taking silver in those of 1948, 1949 and 1950.

Additionally, he took silver in the first Bermuda Bowl (1950) and the 1953 Bermuda Bowl.

He has also captained some Swedish internationals and held some positions on behalf of the WBF.

Einar left us in 1971.

A bridge book "The common thread at the green table" Einar signed together with his wife Britta Werner, who was born in 1912 in Stockholm and was one of the best Swedish players in the second half of the last century.

She won the 1962 and 1967 Women's European Team Championships and the 1968 Women's Olympics.

The Werners are among the very few spouses, if not perhaps the only ones, who can boast of winning, each in their own category, a European title.
