Emma Sjoberg Övelius è nata il 20 maggio del 1985 a Linkoping una città 200 Km a Sud Ovest di Stoccolma dove oggi è residente.
Ha studiato presso il Royal Institute of Technology e dopo diverse esperienze ha lavorato come Vice Presidente presso la Inerventions Ab occupandosi di riabilitazione motoria fino al 2013.
Nel 2015 si è sposata con Erik Övelius e nel 2016 è nato Hugo.
Emma è una World Women Gran Master che si è messa in luce a livello giovanile vincendo l'argento ai Campionati Europei Girl del 2004 e del 2005 ed il bronzo in quelli del 2007.
Dopo aver vinto un paio di titoli nazionali è entrata a far parte della nazionale maggiore femminile svedese vincendo il bronzo ai Campionati Europei Femminili del 2010 e l'oro agli European Women Pairs del 2015.
Nel 2019 e 2022 vince la Venice Cup.

Sjoberg Övelius was born 20 May 1985 in Linkoping a city 200
km south-west of Stockholm where she is now resident.
She studied at the Royal Institute of Technology and worked as a Vice President at the Inerventions Ab dealing with rehabilitation until 2013.
In June 2015 she married Erik Övelius and in 2016 has arrived Hugo.
Emma is a World Women Gran Master who has brought to light at youth level by winning silver at the European Girls Championships in 2004 and 2005 and a bronze in those of 2007.
After winning a couple of national titles became part of the Swedish women's national team winning the bronze medal at the European Women Championships in 2010 and the gold in the European Women Pairs in 2015.
In 2019 and 2022 she won the Venice Cup.
