Jill J. Meyers è nata a  New York il 13 febbraio nel 1950 e si è laureata alla West Los Angeles School of Law ma non ha mai esercitato. Ha aperto, invece, un suo studio nella quale esercita la professione di consulente musicale nell'industria cinematografica.

 Felicemente sposata con Sid Brownstein vive a Santa Monica in California ed è cognata del Campione del Mondo John Swanson.

 Oggi è una World Grand Master  che, dopo aver scalato alla fine del 2004 la classifica femminile mondiale edita dalla WBF, continua a mantenere una delle prime posizioni.

 Personalità dal multiforme ingegno e dalla fortissima personalità, annovera tra i suo hobbies, il cinema, la musica, i viaggi, gli animali e lo sci.

 Fece grande scalpore la presa di posizione politica dell'intera Squadra femminile USA vincitrice della Venice Cup di Shanghai, quando nell'ottobre del 2007, durante la cerimonia di premiazione, alzò un cartello con su scritto: "We din not vote for Bush".

  Nel suo eccezionale palmares figurano oltre a più di 50 titoli regionali, 3 medaglie d'oro, una d'argento ed una di bronzo nella Venice Cup, una seconda piazza nello IOC Grand Prix femminile di Salt Lake City, la Mc Connel Cup del 2002,  l'argento ad Atene nel Mondiale Individuale (2002), il Campionato del Mondo a Coppie Femminile del 1998, il Transnational Mixed Teams del 2000 e le Warren Buffet Cup del 2006 e del 2010.

Her palmares include more than 50 regional titles, three Olympic gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal in the Venice Cup, a second place in the IOC Ladies Grand Prix in Salt Lake City, the Mc Connel Cup 2002 , the silver medal in the World Individual in Athens (2002), the World Pairs Women Championship in 1998, the Transnational Mixed Teams in 2000 and the Warren Buffet Cup in 2006 and 2010.

He made a great stir the political stance of the entire U.S. Women's Team won the Venice Cup in Shanghai, when in October 2007, during the awards ceremony, held up a sign saying: "We din not vote for Bush."
