 Demetri Marchessini č nato il 20 luglio del 1934 ad Atene ed č un noto armatore e polemista.

 Ha studiato al Williams College di Williamstown nel Massachusetts e si č laureato ad Harvard.

 Dopo aver vissuto a lungo a New York si č trasferito a Londra dove vive con la moglie Lucinda ed i loro 4 figli.

 Ottimo bridgista č noto per aver organizzato a Londra nel 2008 la quarta sfida di ogni tempo tra Naturalisti che usavano solo la Blackwood (Demetri Marchessini, Giles Hargreave, David Wolfson, Patrick Lawrence e Tony Priday) e Scientifici (Zia Mahmood, Andrew Robson, Gunnar Hallberg, David Gold e Boye Brogeland).

 Gli Scientifici, tutti professionisti di gran fama, concessero il vantaggio di un IMP a smazzata, ma vinsero ugualmente l'incontro.

Demetri Marchessini was born on 20 July 1934 in Athens and is a well-known owner and polemicist.

He studied at Williams College in Williamstown Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard.

After having lived a long time in New York, he moved to London where he lives with his wife Dawn and their 4 children.

Marchessini began publishing his polemical work in 1997. Modern Myths: And The Realities Behind Them argued against several politically correct beliefs. Women In Trousers was a photo-essay on women's fashion which aroused much controversy when it was published, which received critical coverage in several newspapers. A later book, Scams & Hypocrisies looked at perceived popular myths.

Marchessini has given money to the UK Independence Party, totalling £10,000. Following criticism of his views, he has stated he will no longer give money to UKIP: "There's been such a fuss about what I've given it's a bore.

Good bridge player is known to have organized in London in 2008, the fourth challenge of all time among naturalists that only used Blackwood (Demetri Marchessini, Giles Hargreave, David Wolfson, Patrick Lawrence and Tony Priday) and Scientific (Zia Mahmood, Andrew Robson, Gunnar Hallberg , David Gold and Boye Brogeland).

The Scientific who were all professionals of great fame, conceded the advantage of an IMP to board, but still they won the match.
