Stephen Landen

Steve Landen è nato nel 1952 a Detroit ed è stato uno stimato consulente di informatica ed un giocatore professionista che viveva a Ellicott City nel Maryland e che era sposato con Lynne Schaefer, anche lei valente giocatrice, con la quale ha avuto due figli Matthew e Samantha.

Steve si era diplomato nel 1971 alla Seaholm High School di Birmingham e si era laureato alla Università del Michigan in Ann Arbor dopo aver ripreso gli studi interrotti per dedicarsi al bridge.

Una caratteristica di questo giocatore, che si è messo in luce negli anni 2000, era quella di giocare da oltre 20 anni con lo stesso partner, Pratap Rajadhyaksha a cui lo accomunava l'amore per il golf oltre ad una sincera amicizia.

Nel suo palmares , oltre al bronzo nella Bermuda Bowl di Montecarlo (2003) e l'argento nella Senior Teams Olympiad del 2012, troviamo 6 NABC tra i quali ricordiamo la Reisinger di Phoenix (2002), il Silodor del 2010, due volte il Wernher Trophy nel 1990 e nel 2000.

Landen è stato un World International Master ed un Senior International Master ed è scomparso nella sua casa di Ellicott City il 29 ottobre del 2017 a seguito delle complicazioni provocate da una causale caduta.

Married to Lynne Schaefer, also a prominent player with whom, they had two sons Matthew and Samantha.

Steve graduated in 1971 at the Seaholm High School in Birmingham and graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor after resuming interrupted studies for the bridge play.

A feature of this player, which came to light in the 2000s, was to play for more than 20 years with the same partner, Pratap Rajadhyaksha, who shared the love of golf with a sincere friendship.
