Frances Hinden è nata il 5 novembre del 1974 ed ha imparato a giocare a bridge dai genitori anche se i primi impegni agonistici li ha avuti durante il periodo universitario trascorso alla Cambridge University.

Suo partner prima al tavolo e poi nella vita è il coetaneo Jeffrey Allerton altro valente giovane bridgista che si è messo in mostra vincendo i Campionati Europei Juniores a Squadre del 1994 e quelli Mondiali di pari Categoria l'anno seguente e che poi ha vinto diversi titoli nazionali assieme alla moglie.
Eletta nel Law & Ethics Committee come il più giovane membro di sempre, Frances è anche un'occasionale scrittrice e una commentatrice in Vu Graph.
Frances vive a Londra e lavora nella tesoreria di una primaria compagnia la Shell Capital Almuni e ama molto andare a sciare assieme al marito Jeffrey con il quale parla continuamente di Bridge.
Come giocatrice Frances ha conquistato l'argento nella prima Universiade Europea del 1993 ed il bronzo nel Campionato Europeo a Squadre Miste del 2009 giocando entrambe le volte in copia con Jeffrey.
L'ultimo successo la coppia lo ha colto nel 2015 vincendo lo Schapiro Trophy, ma in precedenza avevo vinto due volte la Gold Cup ed il Camrose.

Laws & Ethics Committee.
She learnt bridge from her parents, but only started playing seriously at Cambridge University where she won the Portland Bowl three times, the Junior Camrose once and gained a silver medal in the first European Universities Championship. Far more importantly she also met the same age Jeffrey Allerton, who first convinced her to play a strong NT, then to play attitude leads, and finally – a few years later – to marry him.
Since then she has won a number of titles, including the Gold Cup, the Hubert Phillips Bowl (twice) and the Brighton Swiss Pairs and Swiss Teams. Frances also chairs Appeals Committees regularly and is a valued contributor to various internet bridge for, as well as a BBO Vugraph commentator and occasional writer for English Bridge.
When not playing bridge, Frances works in corporate treasury for one of the UK’s largest companies.
She and Jeffrey enjoy skiing as often as work allows and if you meet them on a chairlift they are equally likely to be discussing bidding theory, the Orange Book or recent changes to accounting standards.
In 2015 they won the Schapiro Trophy.
