Rhona  GOLDENFIELD

 Rhona è nata ed ha vissuto tutta la sua vita a Manchester e nei primi anni della sua gioventù ha fatto per qualche tempo la segretaria.,

 È sposata con Bernard con il quale gioca da oltre 30 anni e con il quale ha avuto due figli che gli hanno regalato sei nipoti.

 Ha cominciato a giocare a bridge nel 1967 imparando il gioco nel circolo cittadino ma ha cominciato a giocare seriamente solo dopo aver  conosciuto e sposato Bernard otto anni più tardi.

 Da circa venti anni forma con Michelle  Brunner quella che è la più forte coppia femminile del Regno Unito e con la quale ha vinto le ultime due Olimpiadi a Coppie femminili.

 Ha collezionato tre medaglie agli Europei a Squadre, una d'oro a Tenerife nel 2001 e due di bronzo, l'anno successivo a Salsomaggiore e nel 2006 a Varsavia.

È una Women World International Master che occupa le prime posizioni della speciale classifica edita dalla World Bridge Federation.  

Oltre al Bridge ama anche il Golf.

Rhona was born in Manchester, and lived here all her life. 

She is am the middle one of three girls. 

She is married with  Bernard a retired Chartered Accountant and they are two son. 

She started playing Bridge in 1966 at local evening school but only played socially until she met and married Bernard in 1975. 

Most exciting bridge result was probably winning the first pairs event (at the Blackpool congress) she ever played in with Bernard in 1975, although she am sure it actually was winning the gold in the European in 2001.  

She first played with Michelle 20 years ago. In Lady Milne and more recently in last Olympiad then there were 2 Europeans, Salt Lake City and the last 2 Venice Cups. In 1993 she won the bronze medal in Common Market mixed teams with Michelle, Bernard and John Holland.
