Peter  RANK

 

 Peter Rank è nato nel 1938 ed è stato uno dei giocatori più rappresentativi della West Coast durante gli anni '60 e '70; vincitore del titolo di Top Crane 500 , si è ritirato dal bridge agonistico nel 1978 ed è poi stato consigliere ACBL per 15 anni.

 Avvocato, direttore sanitario dello Stato di California, Peter è anche noto per aver prodotto degli spettacoli di successo per Broadway.

 Vincitore di centinaia di titoli regionali e Presidente del Distretto 21 dell'ACBL, ha anche vinto 3 NABC, il Silodor del 1977, il Rockwell del 1968 ed il Wernher del 1966.

 È scomparso l'11 febbraio del 2017 nella sua casa di Palm Springs.

  Grand Life Master Peter Rank of Palm Springs CA (1938 - 2017) died at his home Feb. 11. The three-time NABC champion was 78. Rank served as League Counsel for the ACBL from 2001 to 2016.

 Rank was one of the top players from the West Coast during the Sixties and Seventies – he was the Top 500 masterpoint winner in 1965 – but retired from full-time play in 1978. He won hundreds of regional events and was a former president of District 21.

 Rank developed bridge musicals as entertainment for many NABCs, and wrote, scored and produced four productions that were based on Broadway musicals: My Fair Little Old Lady, The Lesser Vice (Guys and Dolls), Partnership! Partnership! (Kiss Me Kate), There is Nothing Like a Game and Annie Bid Your Slam.

An attorney, Rank was also the former California State Health Director and the former director of the California Employment Department. For almost three decades, Rank produced fund raising shows featuring major celebrities such as Bob Hope, Betty Ford, Steve Allen, Tommy Tune and Gene Kelly.
