 Bill  PASSELL

 

 Bill Passell è nato nel 1930  ed è stato un ACBL Grand Life Master che nel corso della sua carriera di giocatore ha guadagnato 3 NABC: la Spingold del 1985, il BAM Mixed del 1972 e la Rockwell Mixed Pair del 1960.

 Bill era 77º nella classifica ACBL di tutti i tempi al momento della sua morte avvenuta a Boynton Beach in Florida nel 2010.

 Bill ha ricoperto alcuni incarichi federali ed era ben noto come insegnante sia nell'area di New York che in quella del Sud della Florida.

 Sposato in prime nozze con Marietta e poi con Marlene, ha avuto 4 figli ed era il fratello maggiore di Mike Passell.

   Bill Passell 1930-2010, ACBL Grand Life Master of Boynton Beach FL,  earned three NABC titles during his long career: the 1985 Spingold Knockout Teams, the 1972 Mixed Board-a-Match Teams and the 1960 Rockwell Mixed Pairs. He had three second-place finishes in top events also: the 1984 Jacoby Open Swiss Teams, the 1980 Grand National Teams and the 1968 Wernher Open Pairs.

Passell earned more than 19,416 masterpoints and was No.77 on ACBL’s all-time masterpoint leader list at the time of his death.

Besides being a top player, Passell contributed to the game through his work as a national recorder and as a member of the National Appeals Committee.

Passell taught bridge and was well known to students in New York and South Florida.

Passell  has had by first wife Marietta and second wife  Marlene and has had four children and seven grandchildren.

He was the old  brother of Michael Passell (also a Grand LM).
