Giuseppe Messina era un toscano verace che ha fatto trionfare i colori della squadra azzurra negli anni '60 e '70.

 Sposato con due figli, aveva collaborato alla redazione del "Quadri Livorno" un sistema la cui fama seppe valicare l'oceano.

 Dopo aver vinto due volte l'argento ai Campionati Europei del 1962 e 1963 vinse 4 volte l'oro (1965, 1967, 1969, 1971) per non voler contare il bronzo del 1970.

 Difendendo la sua Firenze fu campione italiano a squadre nel 1961 e vinse tre volte la Coppa Italia nel 1961, 1967 e 1969.

 Scomparve a Firenze il 21 aprile del 2021.

Giuseppe Messina was a true Tuscan who made the colors of the blue team triumph in the 60s and 70s.

Married with two children, he had collaborated in the drafting of the "Quadri Livorno" a system whose fame was able to cross the ocean. After winning silver twice at the 1962 and 1963 European Championships he won gold 4 times (1965, 1967, 1969, 1971) for not wanting to count the 1970 bronze.

Defending him Florence was the Italian team champion in 1961 and won the Italian Cup three times in 1961, 1967 and 1969.

He disappeared in Florence on April 21, 2021.
