Nato nel 1929 a Sint Gillis-Waas, un comune delle Fiandre Orientali, si laureò in ingegneria civile e divenne uno dei Direttori della Electrabel.

Paul è stato il fondatore e, fino alla sua scomparsa avvenuta ad Anversa nel 2007, il Presidente Onorario della Lega Fiamminga, fu anche Presidente della Federazione Belga e della European Union Bridge League.
Nel suo ruolo di Presidente del Comitato Universitario Bridge nell'ambito della WBF e di membro del corrispondente organismo della FISU, gestì i rapporti con quest'ultima, promuovendo il Bridge tra gli sport universitari.
Buon giocatore, ebbe modo di partecipare ad una edizione dei Campionati Europei a Coppie Seniores (1989) ed ad un'altra dei Campionati Mondiali (1198) giungendo entrambe le volte tredicesimo.
È anche stato il capitano non giocatore della Nazionale Open del suo Paese.

Geert Magerman.
Born on September 18, 1929, in Sint-Gillis-Waas, Belgium, Mr. Magerman graduated as a civil engineer and became Director of Electrabel.
Mr. Magerman was very much involved in national and international bridge: Founder and Honorary-President of the Flemish Bridge League, Former President of the Belgian Bridge Federation, former President of the European Union Bridge League, Honorary Member European Bridge League and Chairman of the University Bridge Committee of the World Bridge Federation.
He was the President of the Organising Committee of the 1st World University Bridge Championship in Bruges in 2002.
A player and an administrator, Magerman was a member of the World Bridge Federation’s FISU Committee. FISU is the International University Sport Federation. In this function he was the liaison between FISU and the WBF and was very committed to the development of bridge as a university sport.
As a player, Magerman was 13th in the Senior Pairs, playing with Guy Mintiens in 1989 at the European Championships, and achieved the same rank with Lieve Van Der Mijnsbrugge in the World Senior Pairs in Lille in 1998.
Magerman also served as non-playing captain of Belgium’s open team in European and World Championships.
He dead in 2007 in Antwerp, Belgium.
