Nato nel 1932, dopo aver completato gli studi di legge è stato per lunghi anni Direttore Generale del Palazzo Nazionale della Cultura del suo Paese.
Poliglotta, vive a Sophia ed è stato Presidente del "Made in Bulgaria", che è una specie di Confindustria bulgara, Vice Presidente del Forum per gli Investimenti Bulgari, membro del Consiglio delle Camere di Commercio bulgare, è anche stato Presidente della Federazione Bridgistica Bulgara.
Bridgista di valore, è stato Campione del Mondo a Coppie Seniores nel 2002 a Montreal, Campione del Mondo Seniores a Squadre nel 1998 a Lille e, nel 2007, a ha vinto il bronzo agli Europeo Seniores a Coppie.
È anche stato capitano della squadra femminile bulgara che riuscì a salire sul podio alle Olimpiadi Femminili di Venezia nel 1988, conquistando il bronzo a pari merito con il Canada.
