Chris  DIXON

 Christopher Dixon è nato a Londra il 23 novembre 1944 ed ha studiato al Dulwich College prima di laurearsi in legge al Law Society's College of Law.

 Ha iniziato a insegnare bridge nella London School nel 1964 e dopo dieci anni di gavetta è diventato il proprietario dell'Acol Bridge Club di Londra.

 Nel 1984 ha fondato a Londra una società di informatica la Flare Software Systems che è diventata una dei principali fornitori del Governo inglese e che successivamente si è trasferita a Bath.

 Ormai pensionato, Chris mantiene i suoi interessi esterni al Bridge nel ramo immobiliare operando a Bath dove è magistrato e dove lo si può  regolarmente trovare ai tavoli verdi del Bath Bridge Club e del Wiltshire County.

 Sposatosi nel 1971 con Maria-Luce Faina (scomparsa nel 2001) ha avuto tre figli prima di divorziare nel 1988.

 A livello nazionale ha vinto diversi titoli tra i quali ricordiamo, tre volte la Gold Cup e due volte il Campionato Nazionale a Coppie.

Sul piano internazionale ha vinto l'argento ai Campionati Europei a Squadre del 1971, l'oro ai Campionati a Squadre Open del MEC nel 1981 ed è stato più volte capitano non giocatore delle Squadre Inglesi e Britanniche guidando quella Femminile Britannica all'oro sia nei Campionati Europei che in quelli del MEC nel 1979.

Chris che parla correntemente l'italiano ed ha una buona conoscenza sia del francese che del tedesco, ha anche ricoperto svariati ruoli nell'amministrazione del Bridge Britannico e negli anni passati è stato un intrepido viaggiatore che ha attraversato il Sahara e ha fatto più spedizioni ai due poli.

  Christopher Dixon was born in London November 23, 1944 and educated at Dulwich College before graduating in law at the Law Society 's College of Law.

He began to teach bridge in the London School in 1964 and after ten years of hard work became the owner of Acol Bridge Club in London.

In 1984 he founded a computer company in London the Flare Software Systems, which has become one of the leading providers of UK government and subsequently moved to Bath.

Now retired, Chris maintains his interests outside of the Bridge in the real estate division operating in Bath, where he is magistrate and where you can regularly find at the green tables of Bath Bridge Club and Wiltshire County.

He married in 1971 to Maria-Luce Faina (died in 2001) had three children before divorcing in 1988.

At the national level he has won several titles among which, the Gold Cup three times and twice the National Championship Pairs.

On the international level, he won silver at the 1971 European Open Teams Championships and gold at the 1981 EEC Open Teams Championships. Besides, he has been repeatedly non-playing captain of the England and British Teams, driving it at the gold in the European Women Teams Championships and in EEC Teams Championships, both in 1979.

Chris speaks fluent Italian and has a good knowledge of French and German, he has also held a variety of roles in the administration of the British Bridge and he has been an intrepid traveler who has crossed the Sahara and has made several shipments to two poles.
