Margherita Costa è nata il 6 luglio 1990 a Tortona ed ha studiato presso l'ITIS Volta e presso l'Università del Piemonte Orientale Avogadro.
Oggi vive a Villanova d'Asti con il compagno e con il loro figlio Alberto.
Passata nella Nazionale giovanile azzurra ha conquistato il bronzo ai Campionati Europei Giovanili per Squadre Femminili nel 2013 e nel 2015 e nei Campionati Mondiali della stessa Categoria nel 2012 e nel 2014.
Dopo le medaglie in ambito giovanile nazionale si è messa in luce vincendo nel 2011 i Campionati Italiani a Coppie e a Squadre Femminili Under 26, la Coppa Italia Femminile nel 2105 e 2016 il Misto a Squadre nel 2016 e 2018, la Coppa Italia Mista nel 2018, il Societario a squadre signore nel 2017 e 2018, il Coppie miste e, infine, per l’associazione Top One il Societario a Coppie Signore nel 2022 con Elena Ruscalla, con cui gioca conseguendo medaglie e titoli ormai da diversi anni.

Today she lives in Villanova d'Asti with her partner and their son Alberto.
She passed to the blue youth national team, she won bronze at the European Youth Championships for Women's Teams in 2013 and 2015 and in the World Championships in the same category in 2012 and 2014.
After the medals in the national youth field, she was highlighted by winning the Italian Championships for Women's Pair and Teams Under 26 in 2011, the Women's Italian Cup in 2105, 2016, the Mixed Team in 2016 and 2018, the Mixed Italian Cup in 2018, the Ladies 'Club in 2017 and 2018, the Mixed Pairs and, finally, the Ladies' Club in 2022 for the Top One association both paired with Elena Ruscalla, with whom he has been playing, earning medals and titles for several years now.
