Pierre Cotreau è nato l'11 giugno 1990 a Poitiers e oggi vive a Tolosa.
A studiato presso il Liceo Corduan di Royan e studia per diventare audiologo.
Ha fatto parte delle nazionali giovanili francesi con cui ha vinto nel 2008 il Campionato Europeo Under 18 e ha guadagnato un bronzo nei Campionati Europei a Squadre Juniores del 2009.
Pratica il rugby e lo sci.
