Sua moglie Chris è diventata Grand Life Master dell'ACBL nel 2008 anno in cui ha vinto il Whitehead e sua figlia Martha, che ha sposato il campionissimo americano Ralph Katz, è stata Campionessa Mondiale Juniores nel 1991.
Anche suo nipote Sam ha preso parte alla festa vincendo la Mini-Spingold del 2007.
