Karen Allison è nata il 19 luglio del 1941 a New York ed è una guidatrice di taxi che parla il francese e che ha imparato il bridge dai suoi genitori diventando una Women World Life Master.
Nel 1973 si trasferì in Canada per 10 anni e così ha potuto rappresentare entrambi i Paesi ed è stata la prima giocatrice della storia canadese a partecipare ad un Campionato Mondiale Open.
Per i colori USA ha vinto l'argento nella McConnell Cup del 1994 e 5 NABC tra cui ricordiamo lo Sternberg del 1969.
Durante la permanenza in Canada ha vinto diversi campionati nazionali ed è stato un membro del board della CBF.
Al ritorno in patria si è stabilita a Las Vegas ed ha fatto parte della Commissioni incaricate di modificare e scrivere le Leggi del Bridge ed è diventata un abile commentatrice di VuGraph.
Karen Allison was born on July 19, 1941 in New York and is a
French speaking taxi driver who learned bridge from her parents
by becoming a Women World Life Master.
In 1973 she moved to Canada for 10 years and so she was able to represent both countries and was the first player in Canadian history to participate in an Open World Championship.
For the colors she USA she won silver in the 1994 McConnell Cup and 5 NABCs including the 1969 Sternberg. During her time in Canada she won several national championships and was a member of the CBF board.
Upon returning home, she settled in Las Vegas and served on the Board responsible for editing and writing the Bridge Laws and became a skilled VuGraph commentator.
